Submitting Content for Review

The Content tab in your Hub — uploading a photo or video, submitting it to a program, and what the review statuses mean.

The Content tab in your Creator Hub is your content library — where you upload a photo or video, submit it to a program, and see what the Airbnb team said about it. This covers how to submit, what the statuses mean, and where the feedback shows up.

Note: Not every program has the Content tab. If you don't see it in your Hub navigation, it isn't switched on for yours.

This isn't the same as your storefront content

Worth separating these before anything else, because both involve "content" and they work completely differently.

  • Your storefront content comes from your Instagram and TikTok posts, picked up automatically, and becomes visible to travelers once you tag a product in it.

  • Your Content tab is a library you upload to directly, so the Airbnb team can review what you've made. Uploading here doesn't put anything on your storefront.

Different jobs, separate places. Tagging products in a post is covered in Tagging Products in Your Content.

How to submit content

  1. Open the Content tab in your Hub

  2. Start an upload. You'll be shown your program's content guidelines first — worth actually reading them, because they're what the review checks against

  3. Choose your file

  4. Add a caption if you want one. It's optional, but it's the place to give the reviewer context

  5. Pick the program you're submitting it to

  6. Submit — it appears in your library with its status

Read the guidelines before you shoot, not just before you upload. Almost everything that comes back rejected was decided at the point of filming — an uncleared sound, a book cover in shot, a missing disclosure. It's all in Program Guidelines.

What you can upload

  • Photos — JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 30 MB

  • Video — MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 4 GB

One file per submission. If a file is rejected for its size or type, it's one of the limits above — the fix is to export it smaller rather than to try again.

What the statuses mean

Every submission carries one of three:

  • Awaiting review — submitted, not looked at yet. Nothing is wrong while it sits here

  • Approved — the Airbnb team has signed it off

  • Rejected — it isn't cleared as submitted. Open it to see why

You'll be notified when a status changes, so you don't need to sit and refresh the tab. You can also filter your library by status to see just what's awaiting review, or just what came back rejected.

Reading the feedback

Tap any item in your library to open it. You'll see the photo or video itself, its current status, and the Airbnb team's feedback in date order — so if there's been more than one note on a piece, you get the whole thread rather than the latest line.

That thread is where a rejection gets explained. It's usually specific and usually small.

If something comes back rejected

  1. Read the feedback on the item — it says what needs to change

  2. Fix it at the source where you can. A swapped soundtrack or a re-crop is quicker than a re-shoot, and some notes only need a caption change

  3. Upload the corrected version as a new submission

A rejection isn't a mark against you — it's the review doing its job before anything goes out.

Where to ask

  • Not sure whether something will pass? Ask Creator Coach in your Hub — it answers from the program guidelines, so it's the quickest way to check a rule before you film

  • Anything else — a question about specific feedback, a decision on your own content, an upload that keeps failing, or the tab not loading — message the Airbnb team from the Messages tab in your Hub
