The webshop reduced the order amount – how is this handled?

Sometimes, a shop may need to reduce the price of your order before it is shipped. This typically happens if an item is out of stock, if a product is removed from the order, or if a discount is applied after you placed the order but before the money is captured.

Since you are not charged until the order is shipped, our system handles this automatically.

How the adjustment works

When the shop completes the order, they will simply capture the new, lower amount instead of the original price.

  • Your payment plan: The total amount of your order is automatically updated. This means your first installment and all future monthly payments will be lowered to match the new price.

  • Excess reservation: Any excess amount reserved on your card or credit limit is released immediately.

What happens to the one-time fee?

If you have chosen a longer payment plan (e.g., 6, 8, or 10+ months) that includes a one-time fee, this fee is calculated based on the total order amount.

If the order amount is reduced before shipping, the fee is also automatically recalculated and reduced. You will never pay a fee for an amount you did not borrow.

Do I need to do anything?

No. As long as the shop adjusts the amount before they capture the payment, everything happens automatically in our system. You can see the updated plan in your dashboard immediately after the order is shipped.

Note: If the price reduction happens after you have received the items (e.g., a partial refund or price match), it is handled differently. In that case, the amount is deducted from your last installments. See our article on refunds for more details.
