Link a book to its Bookvault title and Bookvault can print it and post it to your reader when someone buys it. Books you don't link keep selling just as they do now, and you ship those yourself.
Linking doesn't send anything by itself. Your settings decide when orders go, and a parcel that also holds something you ship yourself is handled differently (see "How reader orders are sent to Bookvault").
Before you start
Connect Bookvault first. See "How to connect Bookvault to Beventi".
You need to be the account owner or an Admin. An Assistant can see a book's links on its Print on demand card, which says "Only the account owner or an admin can link this", but can't change them.
For a book without variants, add its ISBN in Beventi. It's the surest way to match.
Link your books from the Products page
Open your profile menu and choose Integrations.
On the Bookvault card, press Manage, then choose Products in the left menu.
Wait a moment while Beventi reads your Bookvault library.
On the Your products tab, work through the three groups below.
Same ISBN: Bookvault has a title with the same ISBN, so it's the same edition. Check the list, then press Link all (such as Link all 12). If a pair looks wrong, press Choose a different product on that row first. Rows tagged Unavailable are left out of Link all. To link one, press Link anyway on its row.
Probably the same book: the titles are close but the ISBNs differ, or your book has no ISBN. Press Confirm on the right pairs. Take extra care with rows tagged Similar title. A wrong link means Bookvault prints the wrong book and bills you for it.
No match found: press Find at Bookvault, search by title or ISBN, select the right title and press Link this product.
Linked books move into the Linked list. When you're done, you'll see "Nothing left to match."
Link one book from its product page
Go to Products and open the book.
Find the Print on demand card. An edition that isn't linked says Not linked.
Press Find at Bookvault. If Bookvault has the same ISBN, it appears with a Link button. Otherwise search, pick the title and press Link this product.
Once it's linked, you see a line such as "Print cost about £5.20 per copy" on the card. Team members who can see financial information (the owner, Admins and Assistants) see it too.
Variants and bundles
If a book has Variants (say a paperback and a hardback), link each variant to its own Bookvault title. Variants match on their own ISBN, not the book's ISBN field, so they often show under Probably the same book or No match found. A bundle can't be linked itself, so link each book inside it.
Turn off 'Track inventory' if Bookvault fills every order
If Track inventory is on, each order Bookvault prints still comes off the book's stock count (and any count synced with Shopify). So the book can show as sold out while Bookvault could keep printing it. Beventi reminds you after you link.
When a book says Unavailable
An amber Unavailable tag means Bookvault can't print that title right now, with the reason beside it, such as "On proof at Bookvault". Orders for it stay with you to ship. Fix it in your Bookvault account and Beventi picks up the change by itself. You don't need to link it again.
Unlink a book
Press Unlink in the Linked list (or on the book's Print on demand card), then Unlink again to confirm. New orders stop going to Bookvault, and orders already sent aren't affected.
What you'll see on your order forms
On an order form's Products tab, linked books that Bookvault can print show the Bookvault mark ("Printed and shipped by Bookvault"). Anyone who can see financial information (the owner, Admins and Assistants) also sees a figure such as "Cost ≈ $6.40": roughly what Bookvault charges to print one copy, in your form's currency when Beventi can convert it. Hover over it to see what Bookvault bills in its own currency.
Treat it as a guide. It leaves out delivery, and it's saved when you link the book, so it may not match Bookvault's price today.
FAQ
Why didn't my book match on ISBN?
For a book without variants, its ISBN field needs a full 10- or 13-digit ISBN (spaces and hyphens are fine). A SKU or other code won't match. Use Find at Bookvault to link it by hand.
I linked the wrong book. How do I fix it?
Press Unlink on it in the Linked list, then link the right title with Find at Bookvault. A Different title tag there is a good cue to double-check. If an order already went with the wrong book, check it in your Bookvault account.
Does unlinking delete my book or cancel orders?
No. Your book stays in Beventi and orders already sent carry on. A paid order that hasn't been sent yet waits for you, with a note asking you to link the book again and press Try again.
Why can't I see the Print on demand card on my book?
You'll see it once the book is saved, its category is Book, and Bookvault is connected.
My Bookvault book is missing from the list. How do I find it?
Press Refresh on the Products page. With a very large library, Beventi says it couldn't read it all in one go, so use Find at Bookvault and search by the 13-digit ISBN. With a lot of books in Beventi, you may see "Showing the first batch of your products." Link some, then refresh to see more.
