Turn on Passcode Protection in an event's Advanced Event Settings to restrict who can buy tickets. With the Standard passcode type, buyers need a unique code that you send from the event's Box Office.
Set up passcode protection before you send passcodes. For how, see Advanced Event Ticket Settings.
You can send codes two ways: import a list and email the codes from the Passcodes page, or send codes to contacts from Bulk Send Comp Tickets.
Import and Email Passcodes
Note: You need an email address and a ticket count for each contact.
In Events, click the event's ticket menu, then click Box Office. The Box Office opens in a new tab.
Under Quick Actions, click Send & Manage Passcodes. The Passcodes page opens.
Click Import Passcodes.
In Column Separator, choose Comma, Tab, or Semi-colon to match your data.
In Data, paste your list. The first row must be a header with column names, and each row needs at least Email and Ticket Count.
Click Continue.
On the Map Columns page, under Column Matching, check that each of your columns is matched to the right field. To skip a column, choose Do Not Map This Column. Email and Ticket Count are required.
Check the Preview, then click Import Passcodes. A passcode is created for each contact, and no emails are sent yet.
Click Box Office Home, then click Send & Manage Passcodes to return to the Passcodes page.
Click Send Passcode Emails, then confirm.
NOTE: Send Passcode Emails sends passcode emails to all contacts with passcodes for the event.
Send Codes to Contacts
Note: You need an email address or phone number for each contact.
In the event's Box Office, under Quick Actions, click Bulk Send Comp Tickets, then click Send by Contact.
On the Distribute to Contact page, choose an Option if you want one. An option isn't required when you send codes.
In Contacts, enter each contact's email address or phone number, separated by commas.
Set the Distribution Type to Codes.
In Tickets per Contact, enter how many tickets each contact can buy with their code.
Check the details, then click Send.
Manage Passcodes
Track your codes on the Passcodes page. In the event's Box Office, under Quick Actions, click Send & Manage Passcodes.
The list shows each contact's Name and Code, with Available, Redeemed, and Distributed columns. To narrow the list, use the search box or All Options. To export it, click Download CSV.
To remove codes no one has used, click Delete Unused.
Note: Delete Unused removes every unused code at once. You can't delete codes one at a time.
