Reserved seating passes

Learn about reserved seating passes, how it works, how to set it up on an event, sell reserved seating passes and manage reserved carts.

Reserved seating assigns fans to specific seats instead of selling general admission. Once you map ticket options to a section of a seating chart, fans who purchase that option are assigned seats within the matching section.

A section can also be sold as general admission rather than seat by seat. General admission is based on a section, so the chart needs a general admission only section. It does not need rows or seats.

A seating chart for the venue must exist before you can turn on reserved seating for an event.

Create a Reserved Seating Pass

A reserved seating pass lets a fan buy their seats once for a season instead of game by game.

  1. Create the pass in the pass area with a box office setup, the same way you would set up any other pass (See Create pass setups)

  2. Toggle on Set Accepted Passes Manually. This lets you choose which specific events the pass applies to.

  3. Back on the Passes list, click Create Box Office in the pass's row. Once the box office exists, that button becomes View [pass name] Box Office, which is where you manage reserved carts for the pass.

Apply a Reserved Seating Pass to an Event

Attaching a pass to an event blocks the seats sold through that pass from being purchased again at the individual event.

  1. Find the event on the Events page and click the ticket icon.

  2. Under the ticket setup, click the dropdown arrow for Passes Accepted at This Event.

  3. Select the pass to tie to the event.

NOTE: This cannot be undone. Attaching the pass syncs its seats to the event, and those seats are no longer available for individual sale.

Set up Reserved Seating on an individual event

  1. In the school dashboard, find an event.

  2. Click the ticketing button, then Setup.

  3. If not already selected, you must first select a ticketing setup.

  4. After selecting a ticketing setup, click the Advanced Settings dropdown and find Reserved Seating.

  5. Select the venue's chart from the Seating Chart dropdown. Reserved seating turns on for the event once a chart is selected.

    1. Select the ticket option from "Available Options."

    2. Set a Section Limit for any section you want to cap. Leave it at 0 for unlimited.

  6. Click Save.

Note: Fans see only the options mapped to a section when they select seats in that section.

Sell a Section as General Admission

Use this when part of the venue is first come, first served and the rest is assigned seating.

  1. In Section-Option Mapping on the event, find the section you want to sell as general admission.

NOTE: If you don't see a section for general admission notify Bound to create a section for you.

  2. Check the General Admission box for that section.

  3. Under Available Options, check the ticket option to use for general admission.

  4. Click Save.

Import Reserved Carts for Seats and Pass Renewals

Use this to carry last season's seats into the new season. Ticket option names must match between the two, or the seats will not import.

  1. In the box office, go to the Ticket Sales area for the previous event or pass.

  2. Click Download and select Seat Assignments to export the .csv.

  3. Review the .csv and add any new entries you need, keeping the same column format.

  4. In the box office, go to the Seat Pass Reservations area.

  5. Click Seat Pass Actions and select Import Seat Passes.

  6. Upload the .csv.

Note: Imported carts are reservations, not completed sales. The fan still has to pay for the cart.

Send Payment Links for Reserved Carts

Once carts are imported, send fans a link to pay for the seats held for them.

  1. In the Seat Pass Reservations area, click Seat Pass Actions.

  2. Select Send Payment Link Emails. Each fan receives an email telling them they have a cart waiting and linking them to pay for it.

  3. A confirmation will pop up asking 'Send payment link emails to all unpaid reserved cart holders?' Click OK.

Reserve Seats for One Fan at a Time

You can also hand a single fan a cart to pay for later from the admin box office.

  1. In the admin box office, select the fan's seats from the chart.

  2. Click Proceed to Checkout in the bottom right.

  3. On the checkout page, assign a Ticket Type to each seat.

  4. Enter the fan's contact information so they receive the payment link.

  5. Click Reserve (Receive Payment Later).

Delete Unpaid Reserved Carts

Deleting unpaid carts releases those seats back for sale. This is how you close a renewal window: give fans a deadline to pay, then clear what is left over.

  1. In the Seat Pass Reservations area, click Seat Pass Actions.

  2. Select Delete Unpaid Reserved Carts.

  3. This will open up the seats that were in those reserved carts to those who might want to purchase online.

NOTE: Confirm your renewal deadline has passed before you run this.
