Edit an Event

Learn how to swap home and away teams, change a competition's location, move an event to a new location, edit a non-competition event, and request a change to an event you don't host.

After an event is on your schedule, you can change its details from the Events page. Competitions (games and meets) and non-competition events (practices, meetings, and other events) open different edit windows, so each has its own section below.

Note: Event permissions are required for Event management. See: Manage School User Permissions.

Edit a Competition

  1. Go to Events.

  2. Find the event, and click the pencil button on the competition row.

Swap Home and Away Teams

  1. In Manage Competition, click the green swap button between Away and Home. The teams switch sides.

  2. To make the new home team's school the event host, select Also swap event host. It appears under the teams after you swap them.

    • When you save, the home team's school becomes the event's Primary Host, and your school stays on as a Host.

    • If the event has a ticket setup, you can't select the checkbox. Move the ticket setup to move hosting with the home team.

    • The Location doesn't change with the teams or the host. If the game is moving to the other school, change the location next.

Change the Location

  1. Scroll to the session's Location, and click Set Location(s).

  2. Search for the venue in Search all venues..., or scroll the list, and click the venue to select it.

  3. Click Set Location(s) (1). The new venue appears under Location.

Save Your Changes

  1. Under Reason for Changes, enter a reason, or click Time Change, Location Change, Date Change, Weather, or Opponent Request.

    • A reason is required for schedule changes.

  2. To keep change notifications from going to other schools, select Don't send notification.

  3. Click Save Game.

Change an Event's Location

Use Change Location to move one or more of an event's competitions to a new venue at once.

  1. In Events, click the calendar button on the event, and click Change Location.

  2. Under Events & Competitions, select the competitions to move.

  3. Under New Location, click Set Location(s).

  4. In Venue Search, type the venue's name or owner, and click the venue. The venue appears under New Location.

  5. Under Reason for Changes, enter a reason, or click Facility Conflict, Venue Unavailable, Weather, or Opponent Request.

  6. To keep location change notifications from going to other schools, select Don't send notification.

  7. Click Save Location Changes.

Tip: To mark an event as postponed, cancelled, or changed, click Reschedule in the same menu.

Edit a Non-Competition Event

  1. Go to Events, find the event, and click the pencil button on its row.

    • To find a practice, set the Include Practices filter to Yes.

  2. In Edit Non-Competition, change the Title, Caption, Category, or Status as needed.

  3. To change the date, time, or location, click the pencil button beside the session.

  4. Change the Date, End Date, Start Time, or End Time.

  5. To change the location, click Set Location(s), select the venue, and click Set Location(s).

  6. Click Update.

  7. Click Save.

Request a Change to an Event You Don't Host

If a competition row shows a speech bubble button instead of a pencil, you can't edit that competition. Send a change request to the event's hosts instead.

  1. Go to Events, find the event, and click the speech bubble button on the competition row.

  2. In Change Request, choose a Priority Level.

    • High Priority requests notify the event's hosts immediately.

  3. Choose a Change Category: Schedule Change, Deletion Request, or Miscellaneous.

  4. Under Request Body, describe the change you need.

  5. Click Submit Request.

    • The request is logged for all hosts of the event, and they receive an email with the requested changes.
