Add Your School as a Host to an Event

Learn how to add a school as a host to an event, remove a host, and change your team's level on a competition.

Only an event's hosts can edit its competitions, including the level each team plays at.

For example, an opponent schedules your JV team, but you want your B Squad to play that game instead. The host school adds your school as a host, and then you can change the level on your side.

Note: Event permissions are required for Event management. See: Manage School User Permissions.

Add a School as a Host

  1. Go to Events.

  2. Find the event, and click Hosting.

  3. Under Participating Parties, click the green + button next to the school.

    • The school now shows Host, and its - button turns on.

Hosting Buttons

  • + (Add as Host): Makes the school a host. Once the school is a host, the button becomes Make Primary Host.

  • - (Remove as Host): Removes the school as a host. Available only for a school that's a host.

  • Trash (Remove from Event): Removes the entity from the event.

  • Lock: The Primary Host row is locked.

  • Request to be Primary Host: Shows on your school's row when your school is a host but not the primary host.

Remove a Host

  1. Go to Events, find the event, and click Hosting.

  2. Next to the school, click the - button.

Change Your Team's Level on a Competition

Your school must be a host of the event. If it isn't, ask the host school to add your school as a host first.

  1. Go to Events, find the event, and click the pencil button on the competition row.

  2. In Manage Competition, click Edit Team on your team.

  3. Under Level, click Lower Levels or Varsity.

  4. Click your team at the level you want.

  5. When Team Added! appears, click Return to Competition. Your team shows the level you picked.

  6. Under Reason for Changes, enter a reason, or click Time Change, Location Change, Date Change, Weather, or Opponent Request.

  7. To keep change notifications from going to other schools, select Don't send notification.

  8. Click Save Game.

If Your School Isn't a Host

  1. Go to Events, find the event, and click Hosting.

    • The panel lists the event's hosts and shows Request Host Status instead of the + and - buttons.

  2. To ask to become a host, click Request Host Status, and then click Send Request.

    • The event's current hosts can accept or reject your request.

  3. To ask the host for a change instead, click the speech bubble button on the competition row. See Request a Change to an Event You Don't Host in Edit an Event.
