An email address already in use error message is a response from the system to advise that the email address you are attempting to add to your employee's profile is already recorded in a Breathe account
Email addresses can only be used once within the entirety of Breathe and are used as the employee's unique login to Breathe.
The most likely explanation is that the employee has worked at a previous company that also used Breathe, and used the same email address.
The employee may also have created a free trial with us at some stage. Sometimes this is done accidentally when users try to log in.
There may also be a chance they are already in your system as a pending employee, contractor or volunteer. You can check this by searching for their name in your people search bar.
The individual has previously used Breathe with another company.
No problem. Simply ask the individual to contact their previous employer to ask them to mark their profile as a left, which will remove their email address.

The employee has accidentally taken out a trial
They may have taken out a Breathe trial in error
The employee will need to log in to their trial and delete the account. They can do this using the following steps...

Once in the account you need to go to the Plan and billing section to cancel the plan
Configure > Plan and Billing > Manage plan > Cancel Plan
