On Buenro, the Curator holds legal and logistical responsibility for the group booking. Because of this central role, transferring it isn’t always straightforward. You can only step down before a booking is confirmed — not after.
Can I Transfer the Curator Role After Booking Confirmation?
No — you cannot transfer the Curator role after confirmation.
This functionality is not yet supported (Feature Coming Soon).
Once the group is confirmed and the booking is locked in:
The Curator must either complete the stay or cancel the entire booking
Cancellation fees may apply based on the property’s policy and timing
If you can no longer continue as Curator:
The booking must be cancelled
Other members can start a new group for the same property if the dates are still available
To avoid issues, it’s best to step down before confirmation if needed.
How Do I Transfer the Curator Role Before Confirmation?
Curator transfer is not currently supported at any stage — you can’t pass the role to someone else directly (Feature Coming Soon).
If you need to step down before the booking is confirmed:
Open your Booking Dashboard
Tap “Cancel Reservation”
Confirm your decision to exit the role
After you step down:
All group members will be notified
The booking is automatically cancelled
All payment holds are released
If the dates are still available, another group member can start a new booking and become the Curator.
Can Buenro Support Help Me Transfer the Curator Role Manually?
No — at this time, Buenro Support cannot manually transfer the Curator role.
Role reassignment is not yet supported, even through Support (Feature Coming Soon).
If you’re unable to continue as Curator:
You must cancel the booking before confirmation
Another member can start a new group if the property and dates are still available
For now, the only way to change Curators is by restarting the booking process.
Best Practices
If you anticipate needing to exit the role, inform your group early
Encourage a reliable guest to prepare to book again if needed
Don’t confirm the booking unless you’re confident you can fulfil your role
