What are my obligations if I bring a +1?

Here’s what you need to know before adding a +1 to your group.

Bringing a +1 to a Buenro group trip is a great way to share the experience — but it also means taking on extra responsibility. When you invite someone to join as a Plus One, you're their Inviter and are accountable for both their behavior and payment.

1. Who Can Be a +1?

Anyone you invite — a friend, partner, sibling, etc. — can join your group as a +1 if:

  • The Curator allows +1s for that booking

  • There is still space in the group

  • Your +1 meets Buenro’s age and ID requirements (21+ and verified if required)

You must send them an invite link, and they must accept it through the app.
Direct assignment of +1s without invite flow is not supported (Feature Coming Soon).

2. What Am I Responsible For?

As the Inviter, you agree to:

  • Pay for both your spot and your +1’s spot in the reservation

  • Make sure your +1 reads and agrees to Buenro’s Terms and House Rules

  • Communicate with the Curator if any issues arise

  • Ensure your +1 arrives on time, follows group norms, and behaves respectfully

You're fully responsible for your +1’s conduct — including any damage, disputes, or additional fees caused by them.

3. What Is My +1 Responsible For?

Your +1 is expected to:

  • Respect all house rules and group expectations

  • Arrive on time and participate respectfully

  • Communicate with you (the Inviter), not the Curator, for logistics and questions

They do not pay directly — their participation is tied to your booking — but they are visible in the group chat and included in the reservation.

4. Can I Cancel or Change My +1?

Before confirmation:

  • You can cancel or update your +1 invite link

After confirmation:

  • Only your +1 can cancel their participation (via the app) (Self-service cancellation Feature Coming Soon)

  • You remain financially responsible even if they drop out

If your +1 cancels, they are removed from the group. There are no refunds if the +1 cancels as you are charged per room.

5. Good to Know

  • Keep your +1 updated on check-in details and group chat messages

  • Don’t invite someone unless you're confident in covering their costs

  • Encourage your +1 to upload a profile photo and basic info to help build trust in the group
