ClassCover helps schools find, book, and manage casual educators, while also providing opportunities for full-time, part-time, contract, and temporary positions. Follow this guide to help you set up your profile, connect with schools, and maximise your booking success.
Step 1: Set Yourself Up on ClassCover
Create Your ClassCover Profile
The first step to success on ClassCover is completing your profile. A fully completed profile shows schools that you’re qualified and ready to work, increasing your chances of securing more bookings.
Upload all relevant information, including important documents like mandatory training certificates, qualifications, your CV and teaching credentials (if applicable).
Tip: Include the expiry date in the file names of your certificates to keep track of renewals.
Download the ClassCover app
You can download the most recent version of the ClassCover app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store.
Once downloaded, log into your ClassCover profile through the app.
Step 2: Update Your Availability
Keeping your availability up to date helps schools know when you’re ready to work and avoids missed opportunities.
Updating Your Availability on Computer
When using ClassCover on a computer, updating your availability is a quick and easy process.
After logging into your ClassCover profile, head to the ‘My Calendar’ tab.
Select the date(s) you would like to update your availability on.
From there, you’ll choose your availability status and update it.
You can also use the Recurring Update tool if you have block bookings or regular commitments.
Updating Your Availability on the Mobile App
If you prefer using the mobile app, the process is just as simple.
Open the ClassCover app and tap on the ‘Calendar’ tab.
Select the date(s) you want to update, and you’ll be prompted to choose the status for each. You can also set half-day options (AM or PM) or mark full-day availability.
Tip: Don’t forget to hit SAVE when you’re done.
Top Tip: Avoid leaving dates as “Hasn't Indicated” — schools may not include you on booking requests if they don’t know you’re available.
Step 3: Get Added to School Lists
To get booked to work at a school, you’ll first need to be added to their list. While schools can search ClassCover and add casuals themselves, if you’re looking for work now, it’s smart to take a proactive approach. From Find New Schools, you can search for schools in your area that suit your needs and request to be added to their list.
Step 4: Responding to Booking Requests on ClassCover
It’s important to respond to all booking requests, even if you're busy. Ignoring requests can leave a negative impression and may cause schools to remove you from their list.
How ClassCover Sends Booking Requests
Push Notification: Sent first via the ClassCover app.
Email: As a backup, you will receive all booking request notifications via email.
SMS: If the push notification doesn’t go through, an SMS will be sent.
You can update your notification preferences at any time in settings.
Tips to Ensure Push Notifications Are Enabled
For iPhone Users
Open Settings > Notifications.
Find ClassCover and allow notifications.
Select Persistent for banner alerts.
For Android Users
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Select the ClassCover app > Notifications.
Ensure notifications are turned ON, and check if specific notification types (such as sounds, banners, or lights) are enabled.
If you use an older Android model, check your manufacturer’s instructions or do a quick search to confirm notification settings.
By following these steps, you'll be well on your way to maximising your opportunities on ClassCover, ensuring your profile is up-to-date and increasing your chances of securing more bookings.
