Disconnecting a Stripe Account from CoachRx

How to disconnect a Stripe account from CoachRx, what happens to existing subscriptions and pending payouts, and how to reconnect a different Stripe account.

Disconnecting Stripe from CoachRx ends the platform's ability to charge clients on your behalf and route payouts to your Stripe account. This is sometimes necessary when you are switching Stripe accounts, restructuring your business, or moving to a new ownership entity. This article explains how to disconnect safely and what to expect afterward.

Before you disconnect

Read this list carefully before clicking Disconnect:

  • All active client subscriptions billed through this Stripe account will stop renewing.

  • Any pending payouts from Stripe to your bank still belong to you - those are handled by Stripe directly, not CoachRx.

  • You will not be able to create new invoices, payment links, or subscriptions in CoachRx until a new Stripe account is connected.

  • Client billing history inside CoachRx is preserved. You can still view past invoices and payment records.

  • Existing storefront pages will continue to display, but the Buy buttons will be inactive until reconnection.

How to disconnect Stripe

  1. Log in to CoachRx as the Owner of the organization. Only the Owner can disconnect Stripe.

  2. Navigate to Settings - Billing & Payments - Stripe.

  3. Click Disconnect Stripe Account.

  4. Confirm in the modal. You will be asked to acknowledge that active subscriptions will stop renewing.

  5. The Stripe connection status will switch to Not Connected.

Active monthly / annual

✅ Yes - they continue until the end of the current billing cycle, then fail to renew

Pending invoice

❌ No - new charges cannot be attempted

Past due / failed payment

❌ No - retries stop. The subscription will eventually be canceled by Stripe.

Reconnecting Stripe (or connecting a new account)

  1. Navigate to Settings - Billing & Payments - Stripe.

  2. Click Connect Stripe Account.

  3. You will be redirected to Stripe to authenticate. Sign in with the Stripe account you want to use.

  4. Approve the CoachRx connection.

  5. You will be returned to CoachRx with the new Stripe account linked. Existing client subscription records do not automatically migrate to the new Stripe customer.

Migrating from one Stripe account to another? Subscriptions do not transfer between Stripe accounts automatically. The CoachRx support team can help you re-create client subscriptions in the new account when needed. Reach out before disconnecting if you have more than a handful of clients on recurring billing.
