As explained in our How can I view and Episode as a Script or as a Rundown article, you can customize your Episode’s layout based on your needs by switching between Rundown, Script or Hybrid layouts, as well as which Columns to show and more. Now, with Saved Views, you can save those layouts/views and jump back into them anytime.
Getting Started
When you open an Episode for the first time with this feature, you will start in 'My View' - this is your default 'Private view'. When opening Episodes later on, your last used View will be shown.
To switch to another view, click on the dropdown menu in the top left corner (under the episode name). From here, you can choose between your Private or Public views.
By default, Cuez will start you with a private 'My View', as well as a public 'Public View'. These views cannot be deleted, they can, however, be renamed.
Private vs. Public Views
Private Views
As the name suggests, these Views are just for you, no one else in your Project can see them. As these are your Views, you can create, edit and delete them as needed. You can create as many Private Views as you'd like.
Public Views
As the name suggests, these Views are public, so anyone working on your Project can see the Public Views. However, only Admin users can create, edit and delete them.
How to use custom Views?
Creating custom Views for specific roles or prints
It is up to you, the Cuez user, to decide how to best make use of these custom Views, but here are some examples. You can create:
A producer's View
A director's View
A PA's View
All sorts of Print Views:
A Print View for the Rundown
A Print View for the Script
A Print view with Timings
A Print View with a Notes Column to take notes on the print
Creating custom Views to share via the shared public link
Using the Shared Public Link, the custom created Public Views now also become available. This means that it is now easier than ever to share your Episode with colleagues outside of your Project, and have them be able to view to right information in just a couple clicks.
Selecting a View on the shared public link works the same as it does in Cuez itself. Simply go to the top left corner, select the view, and done.
