Project Overview Page

Once your account has been activated, you will have access to a Cuez Project within your Organization.

On the Overview page, you will find the following Information:

  • Your role within the Project (2): You can be either an Admin or Contributor.

    • Admin: Can create and manage Templates, configure Blocks and Columns, and invite users to a Project.

    • Contributor: Can use Templates to create a new Episode and Edit or Create content by using the existing Blocks and Columns of the Project.

  • Manage Members (3): Invite new users to the Project.

  • Active Episodes (4): All the Episodes created in the Project that are actively being worked on.

  • Series (5): Series allow you to group Episodes, the same way you would use a folder.

  • Templates (6): Create and manage Episode Templates for your Project.

  • Archive and Deleted folders (7): these folders contain Episodes that have been archived or Deleted.

    • Archived Episodes can be accessed at any time in read-only mode. You can copy and paste content from an Archived Episode into an Active one.

    • Deleted Episodes are also available in read-only mode and will be permanently deleted after 30 days.

Episode

When you open or create a new Episode (from a Template or Blank), you will see the following information:

  • Custom Views (1): You can customize how you see your Episode and save those settings as a View. Views allow you to switch between different layouts (Rundown, Script or Hybrid), choose which Columns to show, adjust their order and width, and apply filters.

  • Layout (2): You can choose to see your Episode in Script View, Rundown View, or both (Hybrid view).
This setting is personal to your login and does not affect how your colleagues see the Episode. Your selected Layout is also saved. If you close an Episode and open another one within the same Project, it will open in your last selected view.

  • Filter (3): Using the eye-icon in the Rundown and Script, you can filter out the Blocks (content) that you don't need to see.

  • Part/Item/Block (4): An Episode in Cuez is structured using Parts, Items and Blocks. These are the 3 levels used to organize your content.

    • Part: The highest level of structure. Parts are not customizable.

    • Item: Always sits within a Part. You can assign a color to an Item by clicking the six-dot menu next to 'Item'.

    • Blocks: Blocks are used to enter all content in your Rundown and Script.

      • Text Blocks: Text Blocks are only visible in the Script and used for text content (for prompter, presenter, tablet, etc.).

      • Cue Blocks: Cue Blocks are visible in the Script and Rundown and will contain more technical information, such as Graphic, Video, Audio, etc.

Note: Only Admin users can configure these Blocks. If you'd like to have any changes applied to a Block in the Project, please reach out to an Admin.

  • Enable Columns and Timings (5): You can enable Timings and additional Columns in your Script/Rundown via the '+' button. Same as the layout, enabling columns won't affect the view of others, and will be a saved view for you.

  • Create/Edit Columns (6): You can edit the existing Columns in your Project or create new ones.

  • Share your Episode (7):

    • Copy Link: Copies the Episode link. This link can only be opened by users who have access to the Project.

    • Shared Public Link: This link can be accessed by anyone, even without a Cuez account. External viewers will have read-only access to the Episode.
Note: you need to enable 'Public Access' of the Link for the Episode to be viewed by external users.

  • Search Function (8): Each Episode has a search function that allows you to find specific content in an Episode. This function also comes with a 'Find and Replace' feature.

Episode Menu

In the top left, next to the Episode title, you have a 3-dot menu for the Episode. Here you can access the following options:

  • Print (1): Print or save your Episode as a PDF. Cuez follows the principle of 'What you see is what you get', meaning that your active View determines what will be printed.

  • Duplicate Episode (2): Create a copy of an Active Episode using the 'Duplicate' function.

  • Create template from Episode (3): Turn any existing Episode into an Episode Template.

  • Trash (4): If you delete a Part, Item, or Block, it will move to the Episode Trash. To restore content, open the Trash and Drag and Drop it back into the Episode using the 6 dots.

  • Freeze item and block number (5): Items and Blocks are numbered in the Episode. If you want to keep that numbering in place, you can freeze it. This ensures that even if you reorder or add new content, the numbering remains unchanged.

  • Block and Columns configuration (6): Access the Block and Column configuration directly from the Episode menu.
