What happens to incoming transfers after a Deblock account is closed, and how can funds be recovered if not returned?

So your Deblock account has been closed — but someone sent you money? Don't worry, here's what happens and what to do.

Any incoming bank transfers to a closed Deblock account are automatically rejected and sent back to the sender. This includes:

  • Bank transfers that were pending at the time of closure

  • Any new bank transfers sent after the account was closed

Deblock can't reroute or recover these bank transfers — once a payment is sent, it goes straight back to the sender's bank.

💸 What if the sender hasn't received their money back?

If the funds haven't shown up after a few business days, the sender should:

  1. Contact their bank and request a payment trace (also called a bank transfer investigation)

  2. Provide the transaction details — amount, date, and the recipient account info

  3. Follow up until the trace is complete and the funds are located

👉 Only the sender's bank can initiate this process. Deblock isn't able to trace or recover funds once a bank transfer has been sent.

💰 What about the remaining balance in my account?

If you had funds left in your Deblock account when it was closed, we'll initiate a refund to a bank account in your name. Refunds can take up to 15 days to process.

⚠️ Check your email

Deblock will send you an email containing important instructions related to remaining balances after account closure. Take a moment to read it carefully.

If your refund seems delayed, double-check that the IBAN was entered correctly — then reach out to Deblock support if you need help.

What happens to my crypto?

If you don't hold any crypto or don't wish to keep your wallet, you don't need to do anything. If you do hold crypto assets, good news — you can keep your wallet even after your Deblock account is closed. Here's what to do:

  1. Log in to the app

  2. Go to your wallet settings and export your encryption keys

  3. Store them somewhere safe — these keys give you continuous access to your crypto

  4. If you are unable to see this option please talk with us.

If you are expecting to receive any crypto transfer from someone, export your wallet and you can receive normally. Deblock is a non-custodial wallet, so you have control over it.

🔐 Never share your encryption keys with anyone. Anyone with access to them can access your funds.

I💳 What about pending card payment refunds?

If you had any pending card payment refunds, these will still be processed even after your account is closed. You don't need to do anything — they'll go through automatically.

Why was my account closed? Can I reverse this decision or open a new account?

For regulatory reasons, we're not able to share further details about the specific reasons for this decision. Rest assured that it was made in strict compliance with our obligations.

Unfortunately, this decision is final and cannot be reversed, and it will not be possible to open another account with Deblock.
