Why was I asked for my PIN on a contactless payment?
Contactless payments have built-in security limits. Once you hit one of them, your card asks for your PIN to confirm it's really you. Totally normal - just enter your PIN and you're good to go.
How much can I spend contactless without a PIN?
You can pay contactless for anything up to €50 per transaction. Anything above €50 will need your PIN for security.
How many contactless payments can I make in a row?
You can make up to 5 consecutive contactless transactions. After that, you'll need to enter your PIN to keep going.
Is there a total spending limit for contactless payments?
Yes. Once your consecutive contactless payments add up to €150, you'll be asked for your PIN. This resets your contactless limits, so you can carry on tapping afterwards.
How do I reset my contactless limit?
Just make one payment with your PIN. That resets both the 5-transaction count and the €150 cumulative limit.
