Welcome to Evey Events & Tickets! We’re excited to help you create, manage, and sell tickets for your events. Whether you're hosting a one-time event or a recurring experience, Evey makes it easy to set everything up and get your event running smoothly in your Shopify store.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the first steps of using Evey: installing the app and creating your first event. Let’s get started!
Here's the video guide:
Step 1: Install the App
If you haven’t done so already, start by installing the Evey Events & Tickets app from the Shopify App Store.
Once installed, you’re ready to create your first event!
Step 2: Create Your First Event
Follow these steps to create your first event:
2. Click on the “Create Event” button.
3. Fill out the basic event settings:
Date: Choose whether this is a one-time or recurring event. If it’s a one-time event, select the event date. For recurring events, you’ll set up the schedule later on the “Event Settings” page. See the guide for setting up recurring events here. If you haven’t decided on the date yet, select “No date yet.”
Location: Add the event’s physical address or a link if it’s online.
Event Visibility: Check this box to make the event visible on your store immediately. You can change this later.
Ticket Types: Start by setting your first ticket's price and available quantity. Additional ticket types can be added later.
Once you’ve filled out the necessary information, click “Save.” The page will reload, and you’ll be taken to the Event Settings page, where you can further customize your event. Scroll down to explore the available settings.
Step 3: Event Settings
The Event Settings page includes seven tabs for customizing your event:
Event
The Event tab is where you can edit event details such as name, date, location, and visibility. Additional ticket settings are also available here.
Tickets
The Tickets tab is where you can add ticket types (e.g., General Admission, VIP) for your events and set their inventory. This is also where you can create Group tickets to allow attendees to purchase multiple tickets in one bundle (e.g., a “Family Pack” generating four tickets per purchase).
You can also customize the design of the online ticket page, PDF tickets, and Apple Wallet pass templates. You can do this by clicking the "Customize" button to redirect you to the template editor. Use "Actions" to further customize them through editing code and languages.
You can also set the ticket code, and QR code templates here.
Notifications
Here, you can preview and edit the template for the ticket email, multi-ticket email, and attendee message email that will be sent to your attendees.
Create custom email notification templates for additional personalization. Check out our guide on customizing email templates.
Customers & Tags
Decide whether to create Shopify customer records for attendees and add tags to the event or future orders.
Attendee Information
This section lets you customize the attendee information fields. You can collect attendee information before they purchase tickets. If you install the storefront integration, you can collect attendee info before checkout.
Check-in
Manage check-ins for your attendees.
Set check-in rules for each ticket type, such as allowing check-in at any time or only during the event time. You can also set limits for the number of check-ins per attendee, and allow users to cancel or undo a check-in.
Integrations
Connect third-party apps such as Mailchimp or Klaviyo, or create custom fields for collecting additional attendee data.
Virtual Events
For virtual events, there's a Virtual Events setting where you can add a link to your online event like live stream, Zoom meeting, or webinar. You can also customize the virtual event page.
Step 4: Edit your Shopify Product
Every event you create in Evey generates a corresponding Shopify product. To customize this product:
Click “More” in the top-right menu and select “Open in Shopify admin.”
Add descriptions, images, and other details to enhance your product listing.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not edit the variants directly in Shopify. This may disrupt the synchronization between the event and the app, causing potential issues. Always manage variants or tickets through the Evey app to ensure seamless integration.
Step 5: Preview Your Event
Before going live, preview your event:
Confirm that all details, including ticket types, dates, and notifications, are functioning as expected.
