Understanding Firsty Credits

Updated over a month ago

Firsty Credits are the heartbeat of the Firsty app. Think of them as a universal currency for global connectivity. Unlike traditional telcos where you buy a specific data plan that expires or gets locked to one country, Credits give you total freedom to pause, stack, and move your data.

How Credits Work

Credits sit in your Firsty Wallet. When you turn on your data, the app "burns" those credits based on the local rate of the country you are visiting.

Dynamic Pricing (The "Invisible" Math)

Credits do not have a fixed GB value. Instead, their purchasing power adapts to your location:

  • Local Rates: 100 Credits might get you 1GB in a country with cheap data, but 800MB in a country with expensive data.

  • Automatic Adjustment: If you travel from Country A to Country B, the app automatically recalculates how much "time" or "data" your remaining credits are worth. You never lose value just because you crossed a border.

How to Get Credits

There are a few ways to fill up your wallet:

  1. Top-up: You can purchase Credits directly using your credit card or Apple/Google Pay.

  2. Firsty Free (Watch Ads): Want to stay connected for free? You can earn "Basic" credits by watching ads. These allow you to maintain a connection for messaging and emails without spending a dime.

  3. Referrals: Check the "Credit" tab in the "Hello!" menu for your unique link. Sharing this adds flat dollar-value credits to your wallet when friends sign up.

  4. Add your details: You can earn credits by adding your email, or phone number.

Managing Your Data

Stacking

You can "stack" credits by making multiple purchases or watching multiple ads. These credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.

The "Pause" Button

Bought a Day Pass (Unlimited) but leaving the country early? You can Pause your plan. The remaining credits or days stay safely in your wallet indefinitely until you are ready to Resume them—even if your next trip is months away or in a different country!

There is no way to pause your use of credits in app. To ensure that you don't use your Firsty credits without intending, ensure that you set Firsty mobile data to off, disable roaming, or set your mobile data provider to your home country (though beware of any associated roaming charges!)
