Who can make calls?
If you signed up for Firsty with a phone number, in-app calling is available worldwide: open the Phone tab in the Firsty app, add calling credit, and place outbound calls. When you call someone, they see that same phone number.
If you signed up with email only (no phone number on your account), you can use in-app calling too: open the Phone tab on a current Firsty app, add calling credit, and place outbound calls. The app will guide you through any one-time setup. You can still use Firsty for mobile data as usual.
How to make a call:
Go to the Phone tab in the Firsty app.
Add some credit.
Make your call — that’s it.
Don’t see the Phone tab?
Update Firsty to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. In-app calling ships with app updates, and older versions may not show Phone yet—this applies whether you signed up with a phone number or email.
If you’re on the latest app and Phone still doesn’t appear, contact us and we can take a look.
Current limitations
Calling works in most places, but a few routes are still unreliable or not supported:
Calls within the United States (US number → US number): Some calls may fail depending on the other person’s mobile network or carrier. We’re still mapping where this happens, so we can’t give a definitive list yet. If a US-to-US call doesn’t go through, it may be a routing limitation rather than your phone—try again later or use another way to reach them if it’s urgent.
Calls within the Czech Republic: Domestic calls (Czech number to Czech number) are not supported.
Calls within Italy: Domestic calls (Italian number to Italian number) are not supported.
Calls within Singapore: Domestic calls (Singapore number to Singapore number) are not supported.
If the app shows “Unavailable” for a number or route, that destination is restricted or not supported.
We’re working to improve coverage on these routes. Thanks for your patience.
During a call
The call timer only appears once audio is actually connected—a short pause before it shows is normal.
You’ll see an ongoing-call notification while you’re on a call (including on your lock screen on Android). Tap it to return to the call or hang up.
Swiping Firsty away from your recent-apps list ends the call. To leave the call screen without hanging up, swipe back to the Firsty dashboard.
Call audio problems (especially Android)
Recent app updates route in-call audio through your phone’s system calling controls (the same path as a regular phone call). Headphones and Bluetooth are supported—the app switches to a connected headset automatically.
If you hear no audio, one-way audio, or audio from the wrong speaker or device:
Update Firsty to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Check your audio route—use your phone’s in-call controls (speaker / Bluetooth / headset) and pick the output you want.
Bluetooth: disconnect and reconnect your headset or car kit, or turn Bluetooth off and on.
Stay in the call—don’t swipe Firsty away from recent apps while you’re talking; that disconnects the call.
If problems continue after updating, contact us and tell us whether you’re on Android or iPhone, whether you used speaker, wired, or Bluetooth audio, and whether the issue was no audio or one-way audio.
