** Before getting started, make sure you have Materials set up under Attributes & linked via Create & Configure. As well as your Disposal Sites set up **
What are Disposal Fees? They are essentially a template to automate your disposal ticket entry process.
Select + to create a new disposal fee
In the pop up, enter the Disposal fee name
And any additional information you want saved towards the Disposal Fees
Description (optional)
Business Line (optional)
General Ledger (optional)
Fee Structure - Defaults to Unit of Measure, can be changed to Per Container
Units of Measure options include: Ton, Pound, Yard, Item & Gallon (gallon will have the option for 4 decimal places in the coming days)
Materials - multiple materials can be structured on one fee
Select the stored material type
Unit of measure
Rate - Rate is the rate the hauler will charge the customer (not the tipping rate). When toggled on, the rate field must be filled with the rate per measure that the hauler will charge the customer. When toggled off, the rate field is disabled and the rate per measure defaults to the site rate (that was set in settings for the relevant disposal site).
Included weight - If any part of the weight of the disposal is included in the price of the service, you can notate here what the included weight is and as you apply the disposal ticket to the Work Order, only the difference after the included weight would be charged (net weight - included weight).
Min. Charge - Min charge defaults to included weight x rate (but can be overwritten) - this value will be added to the disposal ticket total
Overage threshold - Anything over this set amount is considered an overage and the Overage Fee will apply automatically as a one-time overage fee or overage penalty
Once all of your Materials are added, and you’ve set up the way you will charge your customers select the blue create button
With the disposal fee created, select the 3 dots to the right of the fee (next to the business line) and select Add services.
(Note: You can have a disposal fee that is not attached to any service. The fee won't be used to create tickets, though, until at least one service has been added.)
Select the service(s) for which this fee applies
With the fee linked to the services, these are now automatically added to any services whenever new configured services are created - to add them to all your existing configured services, please add the fees manually through the new configured services beta program (available upon request) or contact support and we will log a data ticket to add disposal fees to existing configured services
New Configured Services Page, available to all through our beta program
For this example, I am using this Commercial account that has a service linked to a Disposal Fee.
Select the disposal ticket icon on the work order
On the left side of the disposal ticket pop up, enter the details of the disposal ticket
Ticket #
(Date will default to the entry date, however you can the date to actual disposal date if different)
Disposal Site

On the right side of the disposal ticket pop up, are the details the customer will see on their invoice
How the disposal tickets will display on the invoice
Attached to the service, and specific to the Work Order the ticket was applied to, will now display the Ticket Number, Material, Total Volume, Price per volume, Included volume (if applicable), Overage (if applicable) and total
Additional Information:
In the Disposal Ticket entry, select Edit to overwrite the stored rates.
Disposal Ticket Enhancements
Please note that the additional functionality for disposal tickets such as setting the date, included tonnage, minimum charge and overage fees do not require that you set up disposal fees and attach them to services. All disposal tickets now include these additional features, regardless of the presence of fees.
Select EDIT in the disposal ticket entry to access these features.
Additional Notes
Hauler Hero now has a beta program for a scale integration with various scale software providers. If you run a MRF, landfill or transfer station, please reach out your CS or IM representative to learn more.
If you would like to suppress the detail about the disposal ticket on the invoice and show the disposal fee the old way, please let us know and we can make a change to your account settings to ensure disposal fees are rendered as they previously have been
Coming soon: mobile disposal ticket entry! Drivers will be able to enter, edit and review disposal tickets in the field, simplifying the entry process and enabling automated charges of extra items
