One of the perks of managing your routes through Master Sequence is that you can tell it how you want sequencing changes to be handled whenever you reorder a Master Sequence’s route order.
What does Smart Neighbors do?
When you move a stop on your Master Route, Master Sequence will take note of its neighbors. Then, on each daily route, it will look for those neighbors. If they’re not there, Master Sequence will keep searching further and further out until it finds its nearest neighbor on the route.
In the event Smart Neighbors cannot find its usual neighboring stops before or after it on the route, it will look for its next closest neighbor. If it can’t find any, then, and only then, will it drop the stop at the top of the route.
Overall, Smart Neighbors will land stops in the right neighborhood far more reliable on routes with mixed-frequency stops.
What does Fixed Position do?
When you move a stop on your Master Route, each corresponding stop on each upcoming day is given the same sequence number. This was the original version of the Master Route Sequence tool and is offered for those who prefer the original pattern.
