What is the Route Manager’s Master Sequence view?

A high-level tour of the Master Sequence views

The Route Manager’s Master Sequence view allows you to manage and maintain the template your Daily Recurring Routes are built from. See for more details: https://intercom.help/hauler-hero/en/articles/16447523-what-s-the-difference-between-a-daily-and-master-route

Let’s tour the Master Sequence view

The Master Sequence view bears many of the same elements you see in the Route Manager’s Board view. The key difference is that now, instead of managing the routes being run on a specific calendar day (i.e. on July 31, 2026), you’re now managing how a specific route plays out on a specific day of the week (i.e. on Monday).

At the top, going from left to right, you’ll see:

  • A dropdown to select which route you want to manage the Master Sequence for

  • A dropdown to switch across the current version of that route’s Master Sequence or any drafts you’ve created

  • A button to draft a new version of that route’s Master Sequence

  • “Cancel,” which will take you back to the Route Manager

  • “Import” and “export,” (download), which lets you download the current route’s Master Sequence for the day of week you’re looking at, or import a new sequence to replace the current Master Sequence.

  • “Update,” which will ask you if you want to Publish any changes you’ve made so far to either:

    • Live - What your drivers will run every time they run that route on that day of the week

    • One of your drafts - Any version of that route you’re still working out and don’t want your drivers to run just yet

  • The 3-dot menu on the top right provides additional functions.

    • Move Stops - Allows you to move multiple stops, assigned or unassigned, from one route to nother

    • Ended Services Stops - For observatory purposes only; helps to see why sometimes there might be a sequence gap in a route

    • Deactivated Stops - Just like Ended Services stops, for observatory purposes only

    • Bulk Unassign - Allows you to unassign multiple stops, across days, at once

    • Master Positioning - Toggle whether or not Master Sequence should use Smart Neighbors logic or Fixed Position logic

Edit Route Details brings up the same Route Details dialog when you Add/Edit a route on the Route Manager’s Board or List views.

Move Stops will add a column to the far left, from which you can select unassigned or assigned stops and move them into your Master Sequence for whatever day of week you’re currently looking at for the route you’re currently managing (the route that shows up on the top left corner).

  • Note moving stops here must be done via the arrow buttons or via Bulk Select.

    • After selecting where in the sequence that stop should go, click:

      • “Permanent” to update the Master Route, as well as all future occurrences of the route, with that stop at that position.

      • “Current day” to update today’s, or the next instance of that route (08/06 in the screenshot below) with that stop at that position.

At the top of each column, going left to right with respect to the red boxes:

  • Link/unlink specific days from being affected by updates to their Master Sequence

  • Update all future iterations of that route on that day to adopt the Master Sequence’s current stops and sequence order

  • Promote a specific day’s sequence of stops to become the new Master Sequence

Like in the Route Manager’s Board view, you can drag and drop stops to reorder them.

If you click a stop on the Master column (for example, Victoria under Tuesday’s Master in the screenshot below), then all instances of Victoria’s stop will be outlined in blue.

  • You’ll see a N/A in each day’s route if that stop doesn’t exist on that specific day’s version of the route.

    • In the screenshot below, Tuesday 8/4 doesn’t have Victoria’s stop, so it reads N/A above the stops in a red dotted box.

  • You’ll see a yellow dotted box, along with a number, if that stop exists in the route for that day, but is in a different order than the Master’s usual order.

    • In the screenshot below, Tuesday 8/11 has Victoria as the second stop instead of the first.

I made a mistake when moving stops around, can I undo or redo my last action?

Yes, you can either click these buttons near the top right, or:

  • Ctrl (or Command) + Z to Undo

  • Shift + Ctrl (or Command) + Z to Redo

Can I adjust what information the cards show?

Yes, click the Customize Cards icon near the undo/redo buttons.

And adjust to your heart’s content.
