Atlas gives new stores a 7-day free trial with full access to every feature. Nothing is charged during the trial, and cancelling before it ends means you are not billed at all. When day seven passes, the $39 base plan starts and usage charges apply from there.

The same allowances apply during the trial as on the paid plan: 10 published pages, $1,000 of added bundle revenue, and 250 cart drawer orders.
Why Shopify asks you to approve a charge
Starting a trial takes you to a Shopify approval screen for the subscription. Nothing is charged today.
You are authorising the charge that will begin when the trial ends. It is Shopify's standard mechanism for app subscriptions, and it is what allows the subscription to continue without interruption when the trial ends.
ℹ️ If you cancel before the trial ends, the authorised charge never happens. Approving it now does not commit you to paying.
What happens when the trial ends
Day seven is still a free day. The trial covers days one to seven, and the base plan starts once day seven has passed.
At that point you are billed $39 for the coming month, plus any usage charges you have accrued.
Nothing about your store changes:
Published pages stay live
Bundles keep running
Your cart drawer keeps working
All your projects, research and settings remain
Your billing cycle begins on this day and resets on the same day each month. That is why your usage counters do not align with the calendar month.
Cancelling before it ends
You can cancel at any point during the trial and you will not be billed.
Cancelling during a trial ends it immediately rather than letting it run to day seven, and Atlas tells you so at the confirmation step: Your subscription ends immediately (you still have {count} days left in your free trial).
💡 If you are unsure, use the whole trial rather than cancelling early. Cancelling on day two and cancelling on day seven cost the same, which is nothing, and one gives you five more days of testing.
One useful detail: Your remaining trial days stay available — resubscribe before they run out to use them.
The page limit during a trial
During the trial you can publish up to 10 pages, the same allowance the paid plan includes. The difference is what happens when you reach it: on the paid plan you move into a higher tier and pay for it, but during the trial publishing is blocked and Atlas asks whether you want to upgrade early, which ends your remaining trial days.
Discount codes
If you have a code, apply it before starting the trial: select I have a discount code on the pricing screen.
A valid code confirms with {percentage}% off applied. Your free trial is unchanged. and the button becomes Start trial with {percentage}% off.
The wording is precise. A discount reduces what you pay after the trial. It does not shorten or extend the trial itself. See Applying a discount code to your subscription.
Tracking how long is left
Your Subscription page header shows Trial: {count} days left, or Trial: last day on the final day.
Atlas also shows a countdown as the end approaches, including You have {hours} hours and {minutes} minutes remaining in Free trial and a Free trial expiring soon notice.
If you paused partway through, Resume free trial ({count} days left) picks it up where you left off.
