Overview of notifications in iQualify

Email/SMS, in-app and talk channel notifications are generated to alert learners, facilitators, coaches, learners, authors and reviewers.

iQualify has notifications for a range of activities in iQualify whether you are a learner, facilitator, author, or reviewer.

In-app notifications

A green dot next to the bell icon will show if you have any unread notifications for your classes.

When you select the bell to open it, you will see your latest notifications. You can continue to scroll down to see more. You can clear individual messages using the x on the specific notification or choose to Clear all.

Selecting the link in the notification will take you directly to where the activity is happening so you can see more.

Talk notifications

A green dot will appear next to the talk icon in the main course navigation to show if there are any unread talk channel posts or responses.

Email/SMS Notifications

Aside from in-app notifications, you can receive email and SMS notifications if you choose to subscribe to one or either option. You can set your preferences for receiving notifications in your My Account area.

Notifications for different roles and actions

Notifications vary depending on roles and individual actions. Below is the list of notifications that can be triggered for different roles.

Learners

  • Added to iQualify: When added to iQualify for the first time (email only).

  • Added to a course: When added as a learner and in an activation (in-app notification and email).

  • Tasks: When a manually marked task has been submitted/received (in-app notification).

  • Badges: When a new badge endorsement is ready to be approved (in-app notification and email).

  • Pulses: When there's a new pulse to answer (in-app notification, email and SMS).

  • Talk channels and discussions: When others respond to posts you have created (or replied to) and for facilitator posts in an announcement channel (in-app notification and email).
    โ€‹Note: Subscribing to email notifications in your profile, does not automatically result in you getting email notifications for Talk channels. You also need to subscribe to talk channels you want to get notifications for.

Facilitators and coaches

  • Added to iQualify: When added to iQualify for the first time (email only).

  • Added to a course: When added as a facilitator or coach to a class activation (in-app notification and email).

  • Tasks: When a manually marked task (assessed and non-assessed) has been submitted for marking or feedback (in-app notification and email).

  • Badges: When a facilitator-approved badge is ready to be awarded (in-app notification and email).

  • Talk channels: When others respond to posts you have created or replied to (in-app notification and email).
    โ€‹Note: Subscribing to email notifications in your profile, does not automatically result in you getting email notifications for Talk channels. You also need to subscribe to talk channels you want to get notifications for.

Authors and reviewers

  • Added to iQualify: When added to iQualify for the first time (email only).

  • Added to a course: When an author adds me as a collaborator or reviewer in their course (in-app notification and email).
