As a Columbus partner, Columbus is providing a branded Loanapp to be made available to your brokers to submit Origin-funded applications to you, the Mortgage Manager. This article describes the broker Loanapp experience. Further articles describe your (Manager) experience and the Origin Assessment experience.
Your Loanapp will be branded with your branding, and configured with your products - but otherwise will be configured to match Origin requirements. You will be able to make your Loanapp available to your brokers either 1) by creating direct logins for them or 2) by connecting your Loanapp to Aggregator CRMs for lodgement.
For the purposes of this article -
the broker is Barry Broker
he is submitting an application for Sam Smith Jnr
he is submitting an application to Granite Home Loans
Barry creates an application in Loanapp
Barry will create a new application in Loanapp either via his direct login or through his aggregator CRM.
If direct, he will enter his login credentials into your Loanapp login page:
Once logged in, the broker is able to create an application for Sam Smith, and work through completing the application data required:
Loanapp is configured so that it captures the financial picture of the applicants and their situation, any new property purchases related to the application, and what products they are after.
Info Request
Loanapp has a great feature that allows the broker to send a message down to their applicants, to request data or documents, that is sent straight back to Loanapp At any time while working through Loanapp, Barry can trigger an Info Request to his applicants.
Barry can brand the info requests with his own company's branding. The Info Request is made from within Loanapp, and sends the request directly to the applicants email.
The applicants can reply to Barry via desktop or mobile device, and even attach documents to return to Barry. Barry can then use this data and/or supporting document to help him complete his application submission.

Products
As described above, your branded Loanapp is configured to match Origin requirements, but has your branding, and your products configured in your version. So Barry the broker will be presented with your products in this section:
FILE TAB
The File Tab is where all other functionality outside of the application data is found. This functionality includes serviceability, supporting documents checklists and upload, generating print forms, third party services, and the submit button.
The File Tab has a menu of different functions and services you can trigger as you finalise your loan application. You will note some functions are locked, which means they can't be done until another event unlocks them (eg submit is locked until you have a completed and valid application):
Serviceability
Serviceability in your Loanapp is integrated with Origin's Opica serviceability calculator. When Barry triggers Serviceability, Loanapp will gather all the important data out of the application and populate it into the Opica calculator.
Barry will be presented with a popup of the calc where he will be able to review the populated data and make any changes or updates necessary. For a full run-through of the serviceability functionality, please click here.
Identity Verification
The Identity Verification section is where Barry can trigger an electronic check of his applicants' identity documents to ensure that they are real and match the data in the government databases.
A successful result means that according to the government, the applicants exist and their identity is not fraudulent. For a full description of the ID Verification workflow, click here.
Biometric Verification
This section allows Barry to invite his applicants to participate in an electronic VOI workflow. It is very convenient - only takes about 2 minutes - and his applicants are properly VOI'd, which means he does not have to physically VOI them, or use any other physical VOI services. For a full description of the Biometric VOI workflow, click here.
Bank Statements
This is a section that allows Barry to invite his applicants to login to their bank accounts (all that are relevant to your application), and extract recent bank statements that will be required for supporting docs. Its a quick and easy way for Barry to gather these documents, and convenient for his applicants. The extracted bank statements are automatically attached to the supporting docs section, ready for Barry to use in satisfying the supporting docs checklist. For a full description of the Bankstatements workflow, click here.
Checklist
The Checklist dynamically generates a supporting documents checklist for Barry to guide him in gathering of supporting documents for the application. Built in logic presents to Barry a checklist that has all the required documents, based on the data that is entered in the application.
Barry can download this checklist to save and/or send to his applicants. Note that if Barry changes the data in the application, this may trigger the checklist to re-generate with some different requirements.
Print Forms
The Print Forms section generates pre-populated Origin (but branded with your brand) application forms for your customers to review and sign. Note that the application must be complete and valid before you can generate print forms.
Once generated, you can then download these print forms from Loanapp.
Electronic Sign
Barry has the option to use Docusign to send the application forms to his applicants to digitally sign the finalised forms. Note that this section is locked until 1) Barry has consented in the Summary Tab of Loanapp for his applicants to use Digital Signatures:
and 2) Barry has also Generated all the Print Forms (via the Print Form section):
For a full description of the Docusign workflow, click here.
Signing electronically is not mandatory - Barry can instead download the Application forms from the Print Forms sections and get a wet signature from his applicants.
Supporting Documents
The supporting documents section, before you have submitted your application, is a section where Barry can upload his supporting documents in preparation for the finalisation of supporting documents after submission.
*note that if Barry has made any info requests that return documents to him via the request (eg docusign, VOI, Bankstatements), they will be automatically sent to this supporting documents section.
Submit
When Barry has got a valid application, checked serviceability, and generated his finalised application forms, he is ready to submit the application.
The Submit button in the file tab takes Barry through the submit workflow:
For more on the Submit workflow, please click here.
When Barry has submitted the application, it will become visible in 2 places:
in Received Apps in your Loanapp
in Applications in your CHNL
Finalising Supporting Documents
The last thing Barry needs to do is finalise his supporting docs and submit these to you. Once the application itself is submitted, the supporting documents checklist is locked (can no longer be changed); and Barry is presented with the next stage of Supporting Documents.
Any supporting docs he has already uploaded will be waiting for him to use in satisfying the checklist.
He can upload further documents if needed, and when he has attached all the supporting docs to the checklist item, he submits his documents to support his application to you. For a full run through of supporting docs functionality please click here.
Barry will now have successfully submitted both his application data and supporting documents to you for assessment and approval. The next section takes you through the Manager version of Loanapp - receiving and promoting the application to the funder.
