Purple Cow Account and Campaign Statuses Explained

A plain-language guide to common creator application, invitation, campaign, deliverable, and completion stages.

Check what the status belongs to: your account, an application, a hire, a deliverable, or the whole campaign. A status on one item does not automatically apply to the others.

Account review is separate from campaign selection

An account or portfolio review determines which platform features are available to you. Approval does not guarantee a campaign hire.

Pending or under review means a decision has not been completed. Rejected is a decision, not a pending review: waiting alone does not submit it for another review. Read the reason and any correction or resubmission action shown on the same account.

If the reason is missing or unclear, or there is no available review action, contact support with the visible status. Do not create another account to bypass rejection. Support must review the case; a new review or approval cannot be guaranteed.

Application and invitation stages

  • Applied / Applicants: the creator has asked to be considered. Work has not been confirmed.

  • Invited: the business has invited the creator to review a campaign.

  • Accepted invitation: the creator has accepted the invitation, but the business still needs to complete the hire.

  • Hired & working / Active work: check the confirmed hire and the workspace for the next required step.

  • Not selected / Declined: this creator is not proceeding through that application or invitation. It does not mean the whole campaign was cancelled.

The business campaign roster separates applicants, invitations, hired creators, and completed work.

Delivery and review stages

  • Uploaded: a file is present. Check whether a separate submit action is still required.

  • Submitted / Under review: the work has been sent for review. It is not yet approved.

  • Revision requested: read the feedback and submit the requested changes through the workspace.

  • Approved: the particular deliverable has been accepted. Check whether other deliverables or posting steps remain.

  • Completed: confirm whether the label refers to one creator’s work or the entire campaign.

Campaign availability is a different status

Draft means the campaign has not been launched. Open for applications concerns whether creators can apply. Closing applications does not, by itself, cancel existing work. A cancelled campaign or hire is a separate outcome; read the explanation shown in the platform.

When the status looks wrong

  1. Open the correct account and campaign.

  2. Check the workspace for an unfinished action, message, or required submission.

  3. Preserve any unsaved work, then refresh once.

  4. If the mismatch remains, contact support with the campaign, the current status, what you expected, and a screenshot with private details hidden.

Do not repeat a hire, submission, or approval just because the screen has not updated yet.
