Note: Maildoso no longer supports the creation of new Google Workspace or Gmail accounts. This policy applies universally across all accounts and plans. You can still set up SMTP mailboxes and domains as usual; if you already have unused Google Workspace slots on your plan, you can still create mailboxes against those. Existing Google Workspace mailboxes are unaffected. See Google Workspace mailboxes: availability, provisioning, and "0 available" errors for more on this.
Please also keep the following in mind:
There is no fixed platform-wide cap on domains or mailboxes — Custom plan and Package sizes scale up to 1,000+ mailboxes and 100+ domains. Your actual limits are set by your current subscription's mailbox and domain slots (see Billing → Packages & Add-ons). How many mailboxes per domain
Google Workspace mailboxes: maximum 5 per domain.
SMTP mailboxes: 4 to 8 per domain is our default recommendation, and up to 50 mailboxes on a single domain is a supported, tested configuration. (The platform technically accepts more — up to 99 on a domain — but 50 is the density we have validated end to end.)
Running at the higher density is not a deliverability trade-off. We have tested 50 SMTP mailboxes per domain extensively and it performs the same as a lower-density setup. We don't publish the backend details behind that, but you don't need to treat 4–8 as a ceiling that placement depends on: that default is about spreading risk across more domains, so that if a domain-level problem does occur, fewer mailboxes are affected at once.
What does change with density is domain-level volume, because sending limits are applied per mailbox. At the recommended 15 campaign emails/day per SMTP mailbox, 8 mailboxes on a domain send up to 120/day and 50 mailboxes send up to 750/day from that one domain. For example, if you have 7 domains, you can allocate 5 Google Workspace mailboxes per domain (totaling 35 accounts) and distribute the remaining slots across SMTP accounts.
Two things to know before you start:
If you're connecting your own (external) domain, set only our 2 nameservers at your registrar — nothing else. See Can I bring my own domains.
A domain must be fully active before you can create mailboxes on it.
Plan your mailbox distribution with future growth in mind to ensure scalability.
