📁 Category groups and Categories

Create and manage Category Groups and Categories to organize your menu and keep your POS navigation simple and efficient.

🧠 What Are Category Groups and Categories?

  • Category Groups are the highest level of organization. Use them to divide your menu into large sections (e.g., Food, Beverages, Alcohol).

  • Categories live inside a Category Group and group similar products (e.g., Appetizers, Mains, Desserts).

✅ Example:

  • Category Group: Food
      ↳ Category: Appetizers
↳ Products: Spring Rolls, Caesar Salad

➕ How to Create a New Category Group

  1. Go to the Menu section in the Back Office, then Category Groups.

  2. Click the orange New Category Group button at the top.

3. Name your Category Group (e.g., "Food", "Drinks").

4. Assign Categories to this group:

  • Select the Categories from the left-hand list.

  • Click the arrow to move them to the right.

  • Click Save.

➕ How to Create a New Category

  1. In the Categories section, click New Category.

  2. Enter the Category name (e.g., Appetizers).

  3. In the General Info tab, assign it to a Category Group.

4. In the Category products tab, assign products to the category using the same left-to-right selection method.

💡 Tip: You can also assign products later from the Products section directly.

🛠️ How to Edit or Delete Category Groups and Categories

  • To edit or delete, click the three-dot menu (•••) next to any Category Group or Category.

Clicking on the Category name (e.g., Appetizers) takes you directly to the product list inside that Category.

✅ Best Practices

  • Use clear, simple names for your groups and categories to help staff find items faster.

  • Keep your structure consistent—for example, always group beverages separately from food.
