In some situations, you might have to pay your charging sessions without the help of your employer if you are outside the guidelines set. For those situations, you will need to add a payment method in Mbrella Charge to be able to charge.

When will I need to pay?

Mbrella Charge implements a split billing system that allows for flexibility in how charging sessions are paid for. This system comes into play when:

  • You exceed your company's set charging budget

  • You charge outside allowed locations or at restricted chargers

  • You use fast charging when it's not permitted by your company policy

In these cases, you may be required to pay for part or all of the charging session yourself.

What payment method can I use?

When you need to pay for a charging session (or a portion of it) yourself, the Mbrella Charge app offers several payment options, that need to be settled up before the charging session.

  • Credit Card: You can add a personal credit card to your account for these payments.

  • Bancontact or iDEAL: This allows you to set up a direct debit mandate to enable automatic withdrawals from your bank account.
