MedApps allows you to create and send surveys in 2 ways, by push notification or by linking a survey template to an education event to gather feedback.
Distributing Surveys Through an Event
If you want to send a survey related to an event that you created in MedApps, link the survey to the event in the event configuration step. This will generate a unique distribution link for the survey for Clinicians to view on their mobile. You can also set when the survey will open and close relative to the event timings.
Linking a survey to an education event
To link a survey to an event, you'll need to
Start by Creating a survey template (Med App > Communication > Surveys > Create new survey template).
Next create an education event (Med App > Events > Create new event).
During the event configuration step, find the section Event Survey and turn the feature on.
Select your survey template from the drop down list (Once selected, you can preview to confirm it's the correct one).
Set the closing time of the survey
In the next step Configure notifications a notification to complete the survey will automatically be switched on. You can edit the wording & timing of this reminder. We recommend setting the timing to 15 mins before the session ends to allow enough time for completion.
How do clinicians receive an event survey?
Clinicians receive event surveys by:
Manually navigating from the app to the event on their 'Guide'
Opening the Events and professional development section of the app by pressing 'More'
Clicking the reminder when it's been scheduled
Distributing surveys via a mobile push notification
Survey's can be distributed by mobile push notification either immediately or scheduled. Clinicians will receive a notification that will open the survey when clicked, and it will also appear in the updates feed on their app.
To send a survey through a push notification:
Survey's can be sent via a targeted push notification based on an assigned role or cohort (A custom group of clinicians). If you use the cohort method ensure you have this set up before starting the process. See our how to guide
Open your survey template from the surveys homepage and click ‘Send New Distribution’ at the top right of the screen.
Enter a survey title, a message to users, and choose when to send and close the survey.
Select whether to send the survey to one or more roles or to a specific group of users within a cohort.
Preview and review your survey before distributing it.

Step-by-Step guide
Step 1 Send new distribution
Open your survey template from the surveys homepage,
Click 'Send New Distribution' at the top right of the screen
Step 2 Configure your distribution settings
Survey Title: this is the title for the survey that the clinicians will see when they view the survey.
Settings: here you configure when the survey will be distributed to the clinicians. You can choose to send it immediately or you can scheduled it to be distributed for a set time in the future. Here you also choose the closing date of the survey, which is the time after which the survey will not be available for responses.
Message to Users: here you configure the message the clinicians will receive with the survey.
Step 3 Who should receive it?
Select Recipients: here you can choose whether to send the survey more broadly to one or more roles, or to send the survey to a specific group of users within a Cohort.
Step 4 Preview survey
Make a final check that you are happy with the survey template.
Step 4 Review and distribute
A final check of all the details before you send it!
Distribution links
Sending or scheduling the push notification will also generate a unique distribution link for the survey that will be visible in the survey’s details page. You can share that link with anyone who can access the survey on any device with internet.

Find your message and click the 3 dots to open the message menu
Click delete or edit the announcement
