Creating an educational or training event

Easy attendance tracking, automated reminders, record RSVPs and run reports for education & hospital accreditation

Med App’s Events feature allows you to create education and training events for your staff. This feature can help you save time, reduce errors, and enhance your learning experience.

Creating an Event - a quick overview

To create an event using Med App, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Med App on your computer.

  2. Click on the Events tool on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

  3. Click on Create New Event on the top right of the screen.

  4. Fill in the event details, such as name, date, time, location, description, invitees, attendance options, survey options, and notifications.

  5. Review your event summary and click on Create Event.

  6. Share your event with your invitees using a QR code, a link

That’s it! You have successfully created an education and training event using Med App. You can now enjoy the benefits of this feature and improve your learning outcomes.

Step-by-step example of the process

For this example, we'll assume that you already have created your event group.

Open events feature

  1. Click on Events from the feature selection in the left-hand menu

  2. Decide if you want to:

    1. Select an existing Event Group you want to add the event to by clicking the 'Group Name'

    2. 'Create Event Group' (Read more to find out how)

    3. 'Create new event' that is not associated with any group

  3. Select 'Create New Event'

  4. Use the drop-down to select your event group

  5. Click on the event group you want to add the event to (or create a standalone event if it is a one-off)

  6. Configure your Event Details

    1. Type in your event title

    2. Type in the location

    3. Type in any info, e.g. links, pre-reading or notes attendees should know on the session

    4. Click on SAVE DETAILS

  7. Configure Event

    Configure your event settings by clicking on the switch for; RSVP, how attendance is logged & label the event as CPD

    1. RSVP - requests clinicians to mark if they are attending

    2. Configure in-app attendance without the need of a QR code

    3. Label the event as CPD - this also allows admins to filter & export CPD event attendance data for colleague or regulatory bodies

Add an automated survey or evaluation to your event

The benefit of using Med App surveys is that the app will automatically send the survey and you can review and download results directly from the dashboard.

There are no limits on the number of survey sends, or login accounts.

  1. If you have set up an evaluation survey in Surveys, switch it on.

  2. If you have setup an evaluation survey in Surveys, switch it on.
  3. Select Survey to select a survey template

  4. Click on Select Survey to select a survey template
  5. Click on your survey template from the list

Automated push notifications

To change the timing and wording of push notifications, click within each box!

  1. Use the drop-down to change the timing. We recommend the following:

    1. Survey notifications are sent during a session & set 15 minutes before the end of the event.

    2. Event notifications on the day of the event are set 1 hour before it begins

  2. Click on a message to change the timing or wording.

Who receives survey push notifications?

Med App will only send a survey notification and link to people who have logged their attendance at an education or training event. So you're not spamming people who didn't

  • Once an event is created a QR code will display on your screen

  • you'll be given the option to download a PDF poster with all the event details and the QR code and URL link

  • You can either print this for the session or add the QR code to your presentation.

Add it to your presentation

  • Rght-click on the QR code to save it as its on the image or copy it.

  • Use the copy link button to just copy the URL (e.g. if you want to send in a video conference chat).

NOTE: People do not need to have Med App on their phones to log attendance.

Editing your created event

Change the timing of your event, event details including titles by editing an event.

  1. Open Events & search for your event either in event groups or all events

  2. Click on the name of the event

  3. Change the details of the event click by clicking the 'EDIT' button

Can I enable attendance after I've made the event? If you have not enabled attendance tracking when you created an event, you cannot do this by editing the event. You will need to delete this event and create a new one.

Regenerating your QR code poster

  1. Either search or browse for your event name or group

  2. Next to your created event click the QR code button and the poster will regenerate
