One of the options that you can use to stream a video through your Events page is with a Vimeo video - either live or pre-recorded.
Follow the steps below to lean how to add a Vimeo video link to your event.
Step 1: Open up your Event Overview.
First, you’ll want to log into your Fundraising Pages account and go to the Events page for your upcoming event, where you can have your Event Overview open. (this will make the final steps a little bit easier).
Step 2: Open up Vimeo in a separate tab.
Once you've opened up Vimeo, you'll want to locate the specific video you'd like to use for your event.
Step 3: Click the "Share" button in the top-right corner of the Vimeo video.
In the tab where you have Vimeo open, you’ll want to click on the “share” button towards the top right of the video (it should look like a paper airplane icon).
You should see a pop-up message appear, with several different sharing options available.
Step 4: Copy the "Embed" code from the pop-up message.
You will want to select the option to "Embed," and copy (Control + C for PCs, Command +C for Macs) the entire code listed in that field.
Step 5: Open a note-taking application and paste the code you just copied.
Next, open the “Notes” or another word application on your computer, and paste (Control +V for PCs, Command +V for Macs) that code directly into the application.
Step 6: Copy the second URL within that code.
In this code, you should see multiple sections of code that start with https://....
You are going to want to select and copy the second link that begins with https:// that is listed within that code.
Step 5: Return to your Event Overview.
Once you have copied that link, you’ll want to navigate over to that window or tab where you have your Events page open in Fundraising Pages.
Step 6: Click on the "Livestream" tab.
Once the Livestream tab has loaded, you should see a section indicating that you can share the hosted URL in that space.
Step 7: Click on the "Add Livestream URL" button.
Step 8: Paste the URL from YouTube into the livestream URL field.
In that livestream video URL field, paste (Control +V for PCs, Command +V for Macs) that YouTube link that you just copied.
Not using a “live” video for your event, but want to use a static video? Not to worry – you'd paste the link for that video here as well.
Step 9: Click "Update" to save your changes.
