Feature Overview: Livestreaming Capabilities

One of the best parts of your Events page is our livestreaming capabilities, which gives your organization the ability to share the livestreaming content of your event directly through the page itself. This allows your event participants to watch the livestream, participate in the event’s live chat, and donate to your cause – all in the same location.

Livestreaming can provide an opportunity for individuals to attend your event virtually from the comfort of their own homes. Admins can share a livestream of an in-person event for those who might not be able to physically attend, or play a pre-recorded, synchronized video message for everyone watching.

These videos can also be used to encourage attendees (both in-person and virtual) to engage with other event attendees and hosts, or even make a donation to your organization during the ongoing festivities.

You can add the option to run a livestream directly through the Events page creation process, or add the option once the page has already been completed - simply click on the "Livestreaming" tab within the Event Overview to add, manage, and monitor your livestream's progress. From this same tab, you can launch or end the livestream, as well as provide encouragement and excitement for your attendees through the related attendee chat.

The articles below walk you through how to set up a livestreaming video and enable the livestreaming feature within an Events page, as well as provides you with best practices in running an event with livestreaming capabilities.

Feature Availability

This feature is available for all users with access to the Fundraising Essentials package with "staff"- level admin access or higher within Fundraising Pages.

However, please note that Events pages are designed to embed and share your livestream to your participants directly from the page itself – but the livestream (and the link to that livestream) must be generated through either YouTube or Vimeo.
