How do I set up raffle tickets for my auction?

If you're looking to host a raffle for your organization during your upcoming event, you'll need to set that up in one of your Auctions pages.

Below, we'll show you how to set those tickets up for purchase within your Auctions pages, as well as how to easily select a winner from those raffle ticket purchases.

Step 1: Create a new fixed-price "item" for your auction.

In order to create an option for your bidders to purchase raffle tickets, you'll need to first create a new "item" that you'll want to clearly mark as a "raffle ticket."

The item should be set up as "fixed price," with the cost of a single raffle ticket entered under the "What is the item worth?" field.

You'll also want to be sure that the "quantity" field is left blank, so that there is an unlimited amount of raffle tickets that can be purchased (and possibly increase the amount you can collect in sales!).

You may also want to consider setting the "end date" for this raffle ticket prior to the end of your event, if you're looking to draw a winner while the event is still happening. Otherwise, you can always draw a winner and email all of your participants directly to notify them of the results!

Step 2: Export out the list of individuals who specifically purchased that "raffle ticket" item.

When you're ready to choose a winner for your raffle, you'll want to locate and click on that "raffle ticket" item under your "Items" tab in your auction.

You'll then want to select the "Details" option from the drop-down menu options.

Step 3: Click "Export" under the "Bids" section for that item.

Step 3: Review your exported file to ensure accuracy.

Once your export is completed and you are able to open up the Excel file with the details of the raffle ticket item's purchases, you'll want to pay special attention to two columns - the "Bidder #" column, and the "Item Quantity" column.

The "Bidder #" column will be particularly helpful if you are going to be using a randomized number generator to select your winner.

The "Item Quantity" column is very important, as you may need to identify and input a specific bidder multiple times if they've purchased more than one ticket.

Step 4: Select your winner!

There are a couple of different ways you can select a winner for your raffle. We recommend using a free random generator to input your data, and then select the bidder number or the bidder's name randomly to select your winners. Some great options for that generator include:
