Your nsave Visa card comes with a set of benefits provided by Visa — not by nsave. That's an important distinction, because it changes who you talk to when you want to use one.
This guide covers what you get, how each benefit works, and how to claim.
What comes with each card
Platinum
Purchase protection — new items covered against theft or damage for 180 days, up to USD 5,000 per event and USD 10,000 per year
Extended warranty — up to one extra year on the manufacturer's warranty, up to USD 5,000 per incident and USD 10,000 per year
Price protection — the price difference back if an item drops in price within 30 days, up to USD 500 per item and USD 2,000 per year
Car rental insurance — collision, theft and vandalism cover on rentals worldwide
24/7 Visa customer service and the Visa Benefits Portal
Infinite — everything above with higher limits (purchase protection up to USD 10,000 per event / USD 20,000 per year, extended warranty up to USD 25,000 per year, price protection up to USD 4,000 per year), plus:
Discounted airport lounge access via the Visa Airport Companion app — over 1,200 lounges in 141 countries
Travel accident insurance — up to USD 1,500,000 when travelling on a ticket paid with your card
Baggage delay cover up to USD 600 and baggage loss cover up to USD 3,000
Visa Concierge — a 24/7 personal assistance service
Visa Luxury Hotel Collection — upgrades and extras at over 900 hand-picked hotels
The one rule that matters most
You must pay in full with your nsave Visa card for the benefit to apply.
This is the single most common reason a claim gets rejected. If you booked the flight on a different card, or paid cash for the hotel, the cover doesn't apply — even if you have the card in your pocket.
For travel cover, that means paying for the ticket itself with your nsave card. Tickets bought with airline miles or points still count, as long as the taxes and fees were charged to your card.
Most benefits need no sign-up
The insurance and protection benefits — purchase protection, extended warranty, price protection, car rental cover, and the travel cover on Infinite — are attached to the card automatically. There's nothing to register or activate. You only get in touch when you need to claim.
Two benefits do need setting up first:
Discounted airport lounge access — register your card in the Visa Airport Companion app before you travel
Visa Luxury Hotel Collection — book through the Visa collection site or Visa Concierge rather than directly with the hotel, or the extras won't be applied
Where to go: the Visa Benefits Portal and phone line
Everything runs through two channels, both available 24/7:
Visa Benefits Portal — visa.com/benefitsportal. Create an account with your card details to see your benefits, open a claim, upload documents, follow a claim's progress, generate coverage certificates, and chat with an agent.
Visa benefits phone line — 1-800-396-9665 from the US and Canada, or +1-303-967-1098 (collect call) from anywhere else in the world.
Have your card number ready when you get in touch.
How to make a claim
Act quickly. You have up to 30 days from the incident to open a claim. Get in touch as soon as something happens, even before you have all your paperwork.
Open the claim on the Visa Benefits Portal or by phone. Visa's benefits administrator confirms receipt within 24 hours and will guide you through what's needed.
Gather your documents. Every claim needs your card statement showing the payment and the itemised receipt or invoice, plus evidence of what went wrong — see each benefit below.
Submit and follow up. Claims with complete documentation are typically reviewed within about 5 days, and approved claims are paid out within about 10 days of Visa receiving all supporting documents. Payouts are made in USD to the account you nominate.
Claims are assessed by Visa's benefits administrator and its insurance partners, not by nsave. We can't approve, speed up or overturn a decision — but we can help you find the right contact.
Using each benefit
✈️ Discounted Airport lounges (Infinite)
Download the Visa Airport Companion app.
Register using your nsave Infinite card details — eligibility is verified automatically.
Find a lounge at your airport in the app and show your QR code at the door.
Do this before you get to the airport — registering at the lounge desk is slower. The app also shows airport restaurant and retail offers, and any paid lounge visits can be charged through the app.
🎩 Visa Concierge (Infinite)
A 24/7 personal assistance service for restaurant reservations, trips, tickets to cultural and sporting events, gift delivery, translators, event planning and hard-to-find items. Reach them at visadigitalconcierge.com, by email at concierge.eng@visadigitalconcierge.com, or on the phone numbers above. The service itself is free; anything they book for you is not.
🏨 Visa Luxury Hotel Collection (Infinite)
Book through visaluxuryhotelcollection.com (or via Visa Concierge) and pay with your Infinite card to get: best available rate guarantee, room upgrade when available, complimentary breakfast for two, 3pm late checkout, VIP guest status, a USD 25 food or beverage credit, free in-room wifi, and a special amenity at selected properties. Booking directly with the hotel won't get you these.
🛡️ Travel accident insurance (Infinite)
When the full fare for a flight, ferry, train or bus with a licensed commercial carrier is paid with your Infinite card, you're covered against accidental death or dismemberment for up to USD 1,500,000 — including while boarding and disembarking. Cover extends to your spouse and dependent children under 23, even when they travel separately, as long as their tickets were paid with your card.
🧳 Baggage delay and baggage loss (Infinite)
If checked baggage on a ticket paid with your card doesn't arrive at your destination, you can claim up to USD 600 for a delay, or up to USD 3,000 if the carrier confirms it's lost. Two things to do at the airport: report it to the airline immediately and file their claim form (Visa's cover pays on top of what the carrier pays), and keep the carrier's written report — you'll need it, along with your ticket and card statement. Report to Visa within 30 days.
🚗 Car rental insurance (Platinum and Infinite)
Pay for the rental with your card and decline the rental company's collision damage waiver (CDW) — the benefit replaces it and won't apply if you accept the rental desk's cover. It covers collision damage, theft, vandalism, fire, towing and loss-of-use charges on rentals up to 31 days, for you and any additional drivers named on the agreement. To claim, you'll need the rental agreement, the reservation confirmation, the repair invoice, your card statement, and a police report if there was theft or a third party involved.
🛍️ Purchase protection (Platinum and Infinite)
New items paid in full with your card are covered against theft or accidental damage for 180 days from purchase — up to USD 5,000 per event and USD 10,000 per year on Platinum, or USD 10,000 per event and USD 20,000 per year on Infinite. Gifts you bought for someone else count too. Lost or mysteriously disappeared items aren't covered. For theft, file a police report within 48 hours of the incident; for damage, get a repair estimate.
🔧 Extended warranty (Platinum and Infinite)
Items with an original manufacturer's warranty of between three months and three years get up to one extra year of cover — up to USD 5,000 per incident, capped at USD 10,000 per year on Platinum and USD 25,000 per year on Infinite. Keep the receipt and a copy of the original warranty; report a fault within 30 days of it happening.
🏷️ Price protection (Platinum and Infinite)
If an item you bought drops in price within 30 days, you can claim the difference — up to USD 500 per item, capped at USD 2,000 per year on Platinum and USD 4,000 per year on Infinite. The price difference must be more than USD 25, and you'll need a dated advert or listing showing the lower price from a retailer in the same country. Black Friday and other sale prices count.
Where benefits don't apply
Visa's benefits and insurance cover are worldwide, with one exception: they don't apply in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, or the Crimea region.
FAQs
Do I need to register for my benefits?
Not for the insurance and protection benefits — they're automatic. Discounted airport lounge access needs registration in the Visa Airport Companion app first, and hotel perks only apply when you book through the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection.
Does nsave handle my claim?
No. Benefits are provided and assessed by Visa and its benefits administrator. We can point you in the right direction, but the claim itself goes through them.
I paid with a different card. Am I covered?
Unfortunately not. Cover only applies to purchases made in full with your nsave Visa card.
How long do I have to claim?
Up to 30 days from the incident. Don't wait until you have every document — open the claim first, then send the paperwork.
How and when do I get paid?
Approved claims are paid in USD to the account you nominate, typically within about 10 days of Visa receiving your complete documentation.
Which benefits do I have?
It depends on your card — see nsave card plans: Platinum and Infinite. Infinite carries everything Platinum does at higher limits, plus discounted airport lounge access, travel accident and baggage cover, concierge and the hotel collection.
My claim was rejected. Can nsave overturn it?
No. Decisions sit with Visa's benefits administrator, who can explain their reasoning and any appeal route.
