Multilingual messaging
✅ Families can now select their preferred language for receiving text messages, emails, and text-to-voice calls through the Message Center. Once a family sets their preference, messages are automatically translated, so staff don’t have to do it manually.
✅ Community Messenger contacts have the same ability to choose their preferred language and will also receive translated messages. Again, no extra steps needed from your office.
✅ Office staff can update a family's preferred language directly in jmc Office if needed.
If your school is currently including both English and Spanish versions of messages in a single message, you can stop once you start using this feature to avoid sending duplicate content.
Unweighted GPA reporting
✅ Office staff can now choose to calculate and display an unweighted GPA on the Grade Point Averages report, providing a view of student performance without weighted adjustments.
When calculating an unweighted GPA, the cumulative GPA pulls from a student's transcript detail. Make sure transcripts are up to date to ensure accurate results.
Student access to discipline records
✅ Students can now review their discipline record in the jmc Student portal via the Discipline page, instead of having to request them from the office.
This feature is turned off by default. Office administrators can enable student access to discipline info by following these steps.
Streamlined Direct Admissions Minnesota workflows
Office staff can now:
✅ View and manage students who have opted out of the program from that same page, keeping reporting accurate.
✅ Automatically send eligible 12th graders' unweighted GPAs and academic tiers directly to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (MOHE) on a weekly schedule, eliminating the need to manage spreadsheets or manually prepare files.
✅ Override a student's academic tier that was calculated based on GPA only, allowing a guidance counselor to award a student a higher or lower tier based on the strength of their coursework. For example, a student who takes a lot of Advanced Placement courses and narrowly missed a higher tier can have their tier set higher. Similarly, a student taking mostly basic coursework may be placed in a lower tier than their GPA alone would suggest.
Students can now:
✅ Log in to jmc Student to check their unweighted GPA and academic tier, and will receive a personalized email survey from MOHE listing the colleges they're eligible to apply to, all at no cost.
Students who previously saw a list of eligible colleges inside jmc Student will no longer see that list there. It's now delivered by MOHE via email survey.
To start using Direct Admissions Minnesota, office staff will need to enable the integration.
Streamlined Direct Admit Wisconsin workflows
✅ Office staff can now monitor 11th and 12th grade students' progress toward Direct Admit Wisconsin eligibility from a single page in jmc Office, including each student's academic tier, required math courses, and unweighted GPA.
Those who handle schedule-building must have their college-bound math courses set up with the appropriate state course codes before the Math Course Passed column on the Direct Admit WI page will work correctly.
✅ Office staff can now download a Direct Admit file for submission to the University of Wisconsin System. A direct file-sharing integration is in development and expected later this year.
Your office can remove students who are not on track to graduate or who have chosen to opt out by going to the View Student Data page and clearing the "Direct Admit" checkbox on the student’s "General" tab.
