A step-by-step guide on how to generate and receive the embed code for the Aloha Review Widget, which automatically showcases your best reviews on your website.
β¨ When You Need This Guide
This guide is for you if you want to leverage your great reviews as social proof on your own website. Use this if:
You want to automatically display a feed of your 5-star reviews on your website.
You are looking for the "Review Widget" and need to get the embed code.
You are launching a new website and need to get the code to give to your developer.
You are asking, "Can we show reviews on our site?"
What is the Review Widget?
The Review Widget is a tool that creates a dynamic, self-updating feed of your positive reviews. Once you install it on your website, it will automatically show your latest reviews, providing powerful social proof to potential new patients visiting your site.
You'll Need:
Access to edit your website's HTML, or the contact information for your website developer.
β How to Generate and Receive Your Widget Code
Navigate to Feedback Settings. Go to the FEEDBACK tab in your Aloha account, then click on the Feedback Settings sub-tab.
Find the 'Display Reviews on Your Website' Section. Scroll towards the bottom of the page to find this section.
Choose Your Display Preferences. Before generating the code, use the dropdown menus to configure how the widget will look and function.
Generate the Code. Once you are happy with the preview, click the blue Generate Code button.
Email the Code. A pop-up will appear. Enter the email address where you would like the code to be sent (e.g., your own email or your web developer's email). Click to Send Email.
Install the Code on Your Website. The code will arrive in the recipient's inbox.
If you manage your own website: Copy the code from the email and add it to the footer of your website.
If you have a web developer: You can send the code directly to them in the previous step, or simply forward the email to them.
π‘ Common Questions
What You Might Notice | Why It's Happening | What to Do |
I clicked "Send Email" but never received the email. | The email may have gone to your spam or junk folder. It's also possible there was a typo in the email address entered. | First, please check your spam/junk folder. If it's not there, go through the process again, double-checking that the email address is spelled correctly before sending. |
I installed the code, but the widget isn't showing up correctly on my website. | The code may have been pasted into the wrong place, or your website's platform (like WordPress, Squarespace, etc.) might require a specific "HTML" or "Code" block. | This is an issue with how the code is being placed on your website. You will need to contact your website developer or your website platform's support for assistance on how to correctly embed third-party embed codes. |
The widget is on my site, but it isn't showing my very latest reviews. | The widget's content is cached to ensure it loads quickly on your site. It automatically updates, but it is not instantaneous. | Please allow up to 24 hours for new reviews to cycle into the website widget. You can also try clearing your browser's cache to see if a newer version appears. See our guide: How to Clear Your Browser Cache. |
π You'll Know It's Working When:
You receive the email containing the embed code.
You visit your website and see the feed of your patient reviews displayed correctly.
