Even with automated reminders, sometimes you need to personally check in. Whether a patient called with a quick question, missed an appointment, or just needs a friendly nudge—you can manually send or schedule a text right from Aloha.
Plus, you can personalize your messages with emojis to make things warmer and more human. 🫶
How to Send a Manual Text Message
Go to the CONTACTS tab > SHOW CONTACTS page
Use the Search Bar (top right) to type in the patient's name
Click the "Send SMS" icon (far right next to their name)
This will open the CONVERSATIONS page set to that patient
In the message field labeled “New Message”, type your text
Click “Send Now” to send immediately
Want to Schedule the Message Instead?
After typing your message, click “Send Later”
Choose your desired date and time
Click “Schedule” to confirm
💡 Your message will be automatically delivered at your selected time
😊 How to Use Emojis in Your Messages
Emojis are a great way to bring energy and warmth into your communication. Whether it’s 🔔 reminder or 🎉 to celebrate progress, Aloha supports them in both manual and automated messages!
Option 1: Use Aloha's Built-In Emoji Picker
On the CONVERSATIONS page, click the emoji icon next to the message bar
Browse and click any emoji to insert it into your message
Option 2: Copy From an Online Library
Visit a free emoji site like Emojipedia
Find and copy the emoji you want
Paste it directly into your message in the CONVERSATIONS page
Common Use Cases
A patient missed an appointment and you want to follow up
You need to give last-minute instructions or confirmations
You want to schedule a text reminder for after-hours delivery
