What are Price Lists?

Price lists control the prices and discounts your customers see.

You can use different price lists to offer different pricing to different customers or groups of customers.

Sellar uses Base Price Lists and Derived Price Lists. This system makes it easier to manage pricing without maintaining multiple full sets of product prices.

Base Price Lists

A Base Price list is where you define the price for each product SKU. This list acts as the source pricing for any derived price lists you create.

Create a Base Price List

You can create multiple base price lists if needed, but most Makers only require one.

VIDEO

  1. If this is your first time setting up pricing, you’ll be prompted to create a base price list.

  2. Select Create New Base Price List

  3. Enter pricing for each of your product SKUs.

  4. Optionally, you can rename your Base Price List.

  5. When you are done, select Save & Exit.

Make sure every product has a price entered, including £0.00 for keg badges. Product visibility is controlled by Product Catalogues, not Price Lists.

Derived Price Lists

A derived price list calculates product prices from a selected base price list.

Derived price lists allow you to apply different types of discounts without changing the underlying base prices. These are the price lists you assign to customers or customer zones.

Create a Derived Price List

You can create as many as you wish, even one for just one Customer. Remember, editing your base price list, can update these all in bulk!

VIDEO

  1. In the Derived Price Lists section, select + New.

  2. Enter a name for the price list (for example: List Price)

  3. Select the Base Price List to derive from (If you only have one, this will be automatically selected)

  4. To finish, select Create.

Once created, you can configure the type of discounts you want to apply.

Configuring Pricing Rules

Only within Derived Price lists can you set up discounts for each product or as a whole or for a container type.

Derived price lists support three types of pricing rules:

  • Top-level discounts

  • Volume discounts

  • Individual SKU discounts

These allow you to offer different pricing to different customers without editing your base prices.

Individual SKU discounts

You can override pricing for individual products within a derived price list. This allows certain products to behave differently from the rest of the price list.

VIDEO

Each SKU can be configured with one of the following options.

Inherit

The product follows the top-level discount rules defined in the price list.

Do not apply

The product is excluded from top-level discounts.

£ or % discount

You can apply a specific £ or % discount to the product. The final price will automatically update if the base price changes.

Fixed price

You can set a fixed price for the product. This price will remain unchanged even if the base price is updated.

Top-Level Discounts

Apply discounts across groups of products. For example, 5% of all products or 10% off keg products.

These discounts are commonly used for setting standard customer pricing.

When applied, the original price will appear struck through on the storefront, with the discounted price shown beside it.

Create a Top-Level Discount

Remember, you can add multiple discounts for different containers. But these stack!

VIDEO

  1. Click and open the Derived Price List you want to add this discount to.

  2. In the Top-level discounts section, select Add.

  3. Choose the discount type: either a percentage (%) or a flat (£)

  4. Enter the discount amount based on your choice.

  5. Choose which product container the discount applies to (you can only choose one, but add multiple discounts like this to suit other containers)

  6. To finish, select Create.

Volume Discounts

These will offer discounts based on purchasing volume. This can be either based on a quantity of certain items purchased or the order value. For example, buy 3 casks and get £3.00 of each cask, or spend £1000 and get 10% off.

Create a Volume Discount

Remember, you can add multiple discounts for different containers. But these stack!

  1. Click and open the Derived Price List you want to add this discount to.

  2. In the Volume discounts section, select Add.

  3. Set the discount rule to be either quantity-based or based on basket value.

  4. Define the discount amount to be either a percentage (%) or a flat per-item (£)

  5. To finish, select Create.

You can preview the unit price. Use the eye icon to preview how the volume discount affects the unit price of a product. This shows the price each SKU would be discounted to when the volume discount conditions are met.

Assigning Price Lists to Customers

Derived Price Lists can either be assigned to individual customers directly or by using Customer Zones.

Individual Customers
