ServerLife lets you record your total tips for each shift. With Premium, you can track cash and credit card tips separately, as well as tip-outs and tip-ins.
Customize your tip tracking
With Premium, open More → Preferences → What you track to turn on Cash & credit tips, Sales total, Tip-outs, Tip-ins or Covers/guests.
Track total tips
By default, your shift entry includes a single TIPS field where you can enter your total tip earnings for the shift.
Track cash and credit card tips separately
Available with ServerLife Premium. If you receive tips in different ways or want a more detailed record of your tip earnings, Cash Tips and Credit Tips allow you to record each amount separately instead of entering one combined tip total from the shift.
Track tip-outs and tip-ins
Available with ServerLife Premium. Tip-outs are tips you give to other employees. Tip-ins are tips you receive from other employees.
Open More → Preferences and find What you track:
Turn on Tip out to record tips you give to others. Turn on Subtract from take-home if you want those amounts deducted from your take-home earnings.
Turn on Tip in to record tips you receive from others. Turn on Add to take-home if you want those amounts included in your take-home earnings.
When adding or editing a shift, enter the applicable amounts in -TIP OUT and +TIP IN, then save the entry.
If the tips you enter already reflect tip-outs or tip-ins, avoid subtracting or adding those amounts again.
How tips affect your earnings
ServerLife uses your recorded tips to calculate take-home earnings for each shift. You can enter one total in TIPS or, with Premium, record cash and credit card tips separately.
Tip-ins are added and tip-outs are deducted when their respective take-home settings are turned on.
When you also record hours or sales, ServerLife can calculate earnings per hour or tip percentage.
