Does SmartAC.com use cameras or microphones?
No. SmartAC.com does not use cameras or microphones in any of its devices. SmartAC devices measure temperature, air pressure, and moisture.
Does SmartAC.com improve air quality?
SmartAC.com monitors the pressure drop across the primary filter. When pressure increases, it indicates debris buildup. Members get notifications to change filters based on actual usage, not just a standard schedule. This helps maintain air quality, especially during high filter load times like allergy season.
Do I need a smartphone?
A smartphone is best for receiving important alerts through the app. Without a smartphone, members can still reorder filters through the web portal, receive Monthly Health Reports via email, get service updates via text, and enable text alerts for water leaks in portal settings.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. The SmartAC.com system needs internet connection to capture, share, and provide current data about system health.
How long will it take to set up?
Hardware setup takes about 15 minutes for most systems. The technician installs the sensors during the appointment.
How do I know something is wrong with my system?
All alerts appear in the app under Issues > Alerts. For urgent issues like water leaks, members also receive push notifications, emails, and text messages. The Monthly Health Report also highlights items needing attention.
How does SmartAC.com work with multiple AC systems?
SmartAC.com can monitor multiple systems, but additional sensors are required. The technician determines the home's hardware needs during installation.
How much data will it use?
A full month of SmartAC.com data uses less WiFi than watching a single YouTube video. Even though SmartAC.com gathers 50,000 data points daily, the data usage is minimal.
