There are a number of reasons your child's Spriggy Card might have been declined and outlined below are some of the most common reasons.
Security and Safety
Spriggy Cards have merchant restrictions in place to prevent children from spending in potentially harmful places. The places include:
Bars, taverns, nightclubs, cocktail lounges and discotheques.
Package stores – beer, wine and liquor.
Cigar stores and stands.
Betting, including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting and race tracks.
Dating and escort services.
These measures have been designed conservatively and may prevent a child from spending at an innocent venue e.g. the local corner store that also sells alcohol/cigarettes.

Locked Spriggy Card
One of the features we have built to protect money held in a Spriggy Card is the ability to lock a lost or stolen Spriggy Card. If you have recently locked your child's Spriggy Card for any reason, please ensure it is unlocked before they attempt to make a purchase.

Low Spriggy Card balance
If your child does not have sufficient funds loaded onto their Spriggy Card, it will be declined by the payment terminal. Even if you have sufficient funds in your Parent Wallet, your child will not be able to spend with insufficient funds loaded to their card. Please ensure you have transferred money to your child before they attempt to make a purchase.

Incorrect Spriggy Card use
For in-store use of a Spriggy Card, payment can be made with payWave or by inserting the Spriggy Card and selecting 'CREDIT'. Where a Spriggy Card is inserted, a PIN may also be requested.
In some circumstances this can be the reason for a Spriggy Card decline and the most common reasons why are:
The child has chosen 'SAVINGS' instead of 'CREDIT' when using their Spriggy Card.
The PIN used was incorrect (sometimes mistaken for the Spriggy Pocket Money app Login PIN)

Log in to the Spriggy Pocket Money app using your Parent login
Tap 'Settings' in the top right hand corner.
Tap 'Help' in the bottom right.
Tap 'Member Help'.
Tap 'New Conversation'.
Tap 'Top Ups, transactions or transfers'.
Tap 'Transaction/s on a Spriggy card'.
Tap 'Declined transaction' and follow the prompts.
