Troubleshooting: A Worker Profile cannot be deleted
Troubleshooting: A Worker Profile cannot be deleted
Updated over a week ago

What's happening:

When attempting to delete a Worker Profile, the following error appears and the record in question cannot be found:

Record cannot be deleted because another record is preventing this action

Possible causes for the error:

  • The Worker may be an attendee on a Service Event that the currently logged in user does not have access to due to their Security Class settings or their User Group, or because it is scheduled for a Secured Case Service.

  • The Worker may be in the Workers box on a Service File that the currently logged in user does not have access to due to their Security Class settings or their User Group, or because it is a Secured Case Service.

  • The Worker may be an attendee on an Indirect Event that was set to “Restrict access to members only” and the logged in user is not an attendee on the Event.

  • The Worker may be on a Secured Informal Series, either in the Workers box on an attendee on an Event under the Series, and this is not a Series that the logged in user has access to.

  • The Worker may have a Workflow Task assigned to them or been included as a follower on a Workflow task.

  • The Worker may have completed a Document somewhere in Penelope, or been selected for a Worker question in a Document. This is possible for a Preview on a Document template as well.

  • The Worker may have booked an Event or created a Service File or other record type that the logged in user does not have access to.

As soon as a Worker creates any record in Penelope, that user cannot be deleted until that record is deleted first. As such, it is generally recommended that users deactivate Worker Profiles that are no longer needed rather than attempting to delete them.
