💡 This guide is based on the current Stripe and Xero integrations. Because it involves third‑party apps, always check the latest Stripe and Xero documentation to make sure the setup still matches your requirements.
Stripe Bank feeds sync your Stripe payments into Xero automatically, so you can reconcile payouts without manual data entry.
Use this article when you already have Stora connected to Xero and want Stripe to appear as a separate bank account. It shows you what you can do with Stripe bank feeds, how to connect Stripe to Xero from the Stripe App Marketplace, and what to watch out for.
How to connect Stripe to Xero from the Stripe App Marketplace (recommended)
Install the Xero app from Stripe
Open the Stripe App Marketplace.
Find the Xero app.
Click Install app.
Review the permissions Stripe requests.
Click Install app to confirm.
💡 The screenshots in this guide are taken from a test account, so the wording you see may differ slightly.
Sign in to Xero
When the Xero dashboard opens in Stripe, sign in with your Xero credentials.
Grant access so Stripe can connect to your Xero organisation.
If you do not see the sign in prompt, click Have an account? Sign in and log in to Xero.
Set up the bank feed
In the Xero pane inside Stripe, select Setup balance bank feeds.
Check that the currency shown matches the currency of your Stripe account, for example, GBP or EUR.
Confirm the settings and click Save.
Once you save, Stripe creates a bank feed in Xero and starts syncing new transactions.
⚠️ Only future payments are synced. Transactions processed before you connect the account are not imported automatically.
View payments in Xero
Return to Xero. You should now see a new bank account called Stripe.
Select the Stripe account to view incoming payments and reconcile them against Stora invoices as appropriate.
How to add Stripe manually as a bank account in Xero (alternative)
⚠️ This method may no longer work for some operators due to a Xero software change. Use the Stripe App Marketplace connection where possible.
If you prefer, you can try adding Stripe as a bank account directly in Xero. This works in the same way as adding your usual business bank account.
In Xero, go to Bank accounts.
Click the option to add a new bank account.
Follow Xero’s instructions to add Stripe as a bank account.
Complete the setup so that Stripe transactions can flow into this bank account.
For detailed steps, see Xero’s own guide: Add a bank account in Xero (UK).
💡 If you see connection errors or cannot complete this setup, switch to the Stripe App Marketplace method instead.
