Questions Teachers & Staff May Have:

How Do I Log In?

  • TalkingPoints offers multiple sign-in methods: web app or mobile app.

  • We recommend starting with the web version.

  • Account creation methods:

    • Clever Accounts: Sign in through Clever and create a password for TalkingPoints.

    • ClassLink Accounts: Sign in through ClassLink’s SSO.

    • TalkingPoints Connector: Use the invite sent to your email address or sign in via Google/Microsoft SSO depending on your district's email service.

    • .csv-rostered Accounts: Use the invite sent to your email address by your admin and sign in directly to TalkingPoints or with Google SSO.

  • After your first sign-in, visit www.talkingpts.org and click the “Login” button or download our mobile app for teachers (available on iOS and Android).

My Classes Are Incorrect or Missing. What Should I Do?

  • Clever/ClassLink/TalkingPoints Connector Accounts:

    • Ensure correct class assignments in Clever, ClassLink, or your SIS.

    • If incorrect or missing, contact your admin to adjust the SIS data and wait for the nightly sync to update TalkingPoints.

  • .csv-rostered Accounts:

    • Contact your admin to make necessary SIS adjustments and perform another upload using our self-serve .csv uploader.

Questions Families May Have:

Do I Need a Class Code?

  • Clever/ClassLink/TalkingPoints Connector Accounts:

    • No class code is needed. Families are subscribed via text automatically.

    • If families use the app and are prompted for a code, wait 2 days for the information to sync to the Families app. If it has not appeared after 2 days, verify contact information in the SIS.

    • Reach out to your admin for adjustments and wait for the nightly sync.

  • .csv-rostered Accounts:

    • No class code for .csv-rostered families.

    • Check student details in TalkingPoints; if not listed as a contact, contact your admin for SIS adjustments and perform another upload.

My Contact Information Is Incorrect. What Should I Do?

  • Clever/ClassLink/TalkingPoints Connector Accounts:

    • Families should provide the correct contact info to their teachers.

    • If the teacher can’t update it in the SIS, admins can adjust it.

    • Nightly sync will update TalkingPoints after a couple of days.

  • .csv-rostered Accounts:

    • Families should send the correct info to a teacher.

    • Admins can perform another upload using the self-serve .csv uploader.

One of My Children Isn’t Showing Up in the TalkingPoints for Families App. How Can I Add Them?

  • Clever/ClassLink/TalkingPoints Connector Accounts:

    • Ensure the person is listed as a contact for the student with the correct mobile number in Clever, ClassLink, or the SIS.

    • Admin adjustments in the SIS will trigger the nightly sync.

  • .csv-rostered Accounts:

    • Check student details in TalkingPoints.

    • If the family member isn’t listed as a contact, reach out to your admin for adjustments and to perform another .csv upload with the updated information.
