Who this is for: District & School Admins using TalkingPoints Connector (TPC) with API-synced data
Overview
This summer, TalkingPoints is rolling out a Global Pause for TalkingPoints Connector (TPC) partners that share data via an API sync.
We know this is new - and a bit different. This pause is designed to protect your data during one of the busiest update times of the year.
👀 Are you a TPC partner that shares data via SFTP and/or CSV sharing? Your data is not part of the Global Pause, and will continue to be shared as long as you share it. Your Summer 2026 details can be found here.
Global Pause Dates
Start: Friday, June 12
End: Thursday, July 30
Data sharing restarts: July 31
New data shared in TalkingPoints appears: August 3
What Is the Global Pause?
During the Global Pause, your data will temporarily stop syncing to TalkingPoints.
Your current data will stay exactly as it is when you shared it on Thursday, June 11
No new updates will come through during the pause
After the pause end, any shared data will appear in TalkingPoints on August 3
📝 In simple terms: What you see in TalkingPoints on June 11 is what you’ll have through the pause. Once syncing resumes, it will take at least two nightly sync for new data to appear in TalkingPoints.
Why Are We Doing This?
Summer brings a lot of changes, like:
New rosters
Staff updates
Summer school setups
Back-to-School (2026–27) prep
With so much shifting at once, there’s a higher risk of data issues.
The Global Pause helps us:
Protect your data while changes are happening
Keep everything stable and accurate
Set you up for a smooth start to the new school year
Which TalkingPoints Partners Are Affected?
This pause applies only to TPC partners who share data with TalkingPoints via an API sync.
You are not affected if you use any of the following methods to share data with us:
Clever
ClassLink
CSV uploads
Can staff and families still use TalkingPoints during this Global Pause?
Yes! This Global Pause will pause new data syncs but TalkingPoints will still remain usable for staff & families using data received on June 11.
The Global Pause does not pause any user's access to TalkingPoints.

How Were These Dates Chosen?
We looked at trends across districts to choose dates that work for most partners.
That said — we know every district and school runs on its own timeline. If this timing doesn’t quite fit your needs, we want to hear from you!

You can keep using TalkingPoints for summer school
Your data will continue to update as expected
You’ll be set up for a smooth back-to-school transition
