How do I reconnect or refresh my LinkedIn connection in Taplio?
Taplio stays connected to LinkedIn through the Taplio Connect extension in your computer's browser. If you see the red banner "Your connection with LinkedIn has been lost", your LinkedIn account has simply been disconnected from Taplio and needs to be reconnected. It only takes a minute.
How to reconnect (from your computer)
Reconnecting only works from a computer: the extension isn't available on phones and tablets (the banner is also hidden on small screens).
Make sure the Taplio Connect extension is installed and enabled in your browser (Chrome, Edge or Brave).
In that same browser, open linkedin.com and make sure you are logged in with the right LinkedIn account.
Refresh your Taplio page: you should be reconnected within a few minutes.
If the banner is still there, go to Account Settings (General tab) and click Refresh next to your LinkedIn connection. If it shows as disconnected, click Connect instead.
Only the extension and LinkedIn need to be in the same browser. Taplio itself can be open anywhere.
⚠️ Don't click Disconnect to fix the banner. Disconnecting doesn't reconnect you and can make it harder to connect again. If the steps above don't work, message us in the chat.
What happens while you're disconnected
Scheduled posts can't be published: they go back to your drafts and you get an email. Once you're reconnected, check your drafts and reschedule them.
Analytics pause until you reconnect.
Engagement feeds, comments, likes, Auto DM and Auto Connect are paused too.
Writing, drafts and AI features keep working.
If the banner is still there a day after you followed the steps above, message us in the chat and we'll look into it.
Can't access your LinkedIn account? Taplio support can't help with LinkedIn account recovery. Please contact LinkedIn customer support directly.
Preventing future disconnections
Avoid signing out of LinkedIn in the browser where the Taplio Connect extension is installed. Closing the browser or shutting down your computer is fine.
Keep your LinkedIn session active: open LinkedIn in that browser regularly, ideally daily or every 2–3 days.
Use the extension on one computer: having it on several devices can cause disconnections.
Removing your LinkedIn account from Taplio
Only do this if you want to stop using this LinkedIn account with Taplio (not to fix a connection problem):
Log in to your Taplio account.
Navigate to the Account Settings section.
Choose the option to Disconnect your LinkedIn account.
This removes the connection between your LinkedIn account and Taplio.
