This feature is available for the following products:
Events and leagues typically include rounds with pairings and a tee sheet. However, there may be scenarios where there is no tee times (no pairing, no tee sheet) for the round. This is often the case when a club will implement the "play when you can" approach and let players come to the course and play whenever they'd like during the day. In this article, we will discuss how to set up and manage this type of round.
Setting Up a Round with No Tee Sheet or Pairings:
To set up a round with no tee sheet or no pairings, follow these instructions:
Access the Settings:
If every round in the event/league will not be using a tee sheet, go to Event > Event Profile > Rounds & Scheduling.
If a specific round within an event/league will not be using a tee sheet, go to Rounds > Round Profile > Signups & Scheduling for the desired round.
Select "No Tee Sheet" as the Pairing Size (as shown below).
Directly below the "Pairing Size" option, select the course and gender default tees (as shown below). When players are added to the round, they will automatically be assigned to the appropriate tee.
If you are allowing players to use another tee and would like them to select their tee when using the mobile app to enter scores, you can also check the box for "Allow players to choose their course and tee from the mobile app" under "Course Selection" (as shown above).
For Non-GHIN clubs using the Mobile Club App, you can also allow players to select an attestor when checking in and entering scores, by checking the option for "Golfers are required to have an attester (as shown below). Note: This option will not be available unless the option for "Allow players to choose their course and tee..." has been selected.
Click "Save".
Review the Confirmed Players: Go to Rounds > Round Player Roster. The players for the round must be assigned as "Confirmed Players". Make any changes (if necessary) to assign the appropriate players as "Confirmed Players".
Assign the Course/Tee: Go to Rounds > Edit Course & Tee. By default, players will be assigned to their gender default tee. However, you can change the tees for individual players by editing the player (as shown below) and selecting their tee.
You can also mass edit multiple players at once (as shown below).Enter Scores: Scores can be entered for the players by going to Rounds > Edit Course & Tee or Rounds > Enter Scores. If using mobile app scoring, unique GGIDs will be assigned to every player and listed next to their name (as shown below).
Other Notes and Considerations:
When setting and managing this type of event, keep the following in mind:
Setting up Tournaments: Because there is no tee sheet, you will be restricted to "player v. field" and "team(all) v. field" tournaments.
Scorecards: When formatting scorecards, you will only be able to print one player per scorecard (found under the Format tab).
Other Reports: Depending on the report configuration, you may or may not be able to correctly print a report. For instance, if a report is using player data fields specific to their position in the pairings (e.g., player in position 1, 2, 3, 4) then the report cannot be properly generated.
Menu Simplification: Because there are no pairings or tee sheet, many menu options typically available in the Manager Site will no longer be available (e.g., Create New Pairings, Edit Existing Pairings, Player Times Together Analysis, Round Robin Schedule, etc).
GPS Integrations: Golf cart GPS scoring integration cannot be used for rounds without pairings or tee sheets.
