This article details the "Rounds & Scheduling" tab (shown below) found in the Default Settings, Event/League Profile, and Round Profile.
β
Default Settings for Leagues and Events: (Customer Center > Customer Settings > Default Settings for Leagues and Events) These are your customer-level settings. Any event or league you create will have these settings applied. Any changes to these settings will not apply to events and leagues already created. Click Here for details.
Event/League Profile: (League/Event > League/Event Profile) These settings are accessed and applied to specific events and leagues. When creating a new event or league, the settings are cloned from the Default Settings in your Customer Center. Click Here for details.
Round Profile: (Rounds > Round Profile) These settings are applied to a specific round within an event or league. They are cloned from the Event/League Profile. Click Here for details.
In summary, your Default Settings propagate to the Event/League Profile of all your events and leagues, which also propagate further to all of the rounds within that league or event.
Default Attendance Status
Players can be attending by default or not attending by default:
Attending by Default: Every player on the event/league roster will be attending every round. This is the case for almost all events and for round robin leagues where every player in the league plays every week.
Not Attending by Default: Initially, all players on the event/league roster are marked as "not confirmed" in all of the rounds. Players need to manually marked as "attending" by the manager (Rounds > Round Player Roster) or they need to sign up online using Round Signups. This is typically used for leagues where only a subset of the league roster players each week.
Pairing Size
You can set the pairing size of Twosomes, Threesomes, Foursomes, Fivesomes, Sixsomes, or No Tee Sheet. When selecting "No Tee Sheet", you can set up and manage a round with no tee sheet. For more details on managing rounds with no tee sheet, Click Here.
When using a pairing size (e.g., Twosome, Threesome, etc) you can also enable the option to "Set up a default course & tee by gender." When selecting this option, an additional section is added for "Default Course & Tee" (outlined next).
When using the "No Tee Sheet" option, the setting for default course & tee by gender is enabled by default. Further, there will also be an additional option to allow players to choose their course and tee from the mobile app.
Scorecard Markers (JGA Customers Only)
You can specify who will be the scorecard maker for each player. These fields can also be used to display the scorecard marker on printed scorecards. For more details, Click Here.
Default Course & Tee
If setting up a round with no tee sheet or you have enabled the option for "Set up a default course & tee by gender" when using a pairing size, you can set the default course and tee (by gender) for players. When doing so, players added to the round roster for a no tee sheet setup or when creating pairings for a round will be set to the selected tees by default.
If you are using the no tee sheet pairing size, there will be an additional option to allow players to choose their course and tee from the mobile app. This way if they are playing a different tee then the default, they can set that when using the mobile app. For more details on selecting a tee on the mobile app when with no tee sheet pairing size, Click Here.
Note: If you are a Non-GHIN customer using the Club App and have enabled the option to allow players to choose their course and tee from the mobile app, you will also have the additional option, "Golfers are required to have an attester." This way, if a tee other than the default tee is used, it can be verified by another golfer. For more details on using the Club App, Click Here.

Allow Golfers to Set Course and Tee
Depending on the features enabled (i.e., Mobile App and Club Score Input Terminal), the title of this section may vary with the following:

Allow Golfers to Set Course and Tee: This section name is used when both the Mobile App and Club Score Input Terminal feature is enabled.
By enabling any of the selections, golfers can select from options within the mobile app when using Live Scoring or from the Club Score Input Terminal. The following option can be enabled for selection when using the:

ABCD Optimization
When using the Automatic Scheduler to create AB, ABC, ABCD, ABCDE, or ABCDEF pairings, there are more options to further optimize the pairings:
Optimize for most diversity based on previous round pairings: Pairings for a round will be optimized by looking at the pairings from previous rounds in the event or league. Essentially, repeats will be minimized.
Optimize for most diversity based on previous round pairings and balance total Handicap Index of each pairing group: In addition to the previous option, the total Course Handicaps for all the pairing groups will be balanced. This creates even and fair pairing group teams based on Course Handicap.
Place A's from low to high, B's from high to low, and continue alternating: The "snake method" will be used to order players in the pairings. See example below:
Random: Pairings will be created randomly with none of the above methods being used.
Automatic Scheduler
When using the Automatic Scheduler to create pairings, the following options are available:
Pairing Order: When choosing pairing order you can:
Schedule player tee times over all rounds to maximize fairness with respect to early and late starts: When using this options, the scheduler looks back at previous round pairings in the event/league (if any), and players will be treated equally with respect to early, middle and late tee times. By doing this, players will sometimes get early times and sometimes get late times.
Order pairings by division and flight with smaller groups first: Pairings will be organized by divisions and flights. Players in different divisions/flights will never be paired together. Furthermore, if there are smaller pairing groups in the pairings, place them first on the tee sheet. For instance, place the twosome ahead of the threesomes.
Order pairings by division and flight with smaller groups last: Pairings will be organized by divisions and flights. Players in different divisions/flights will never be paired together. Furthermore, if there are smaller pairing groups in the pairings, place them last on the tee sheet. For instance, place the twosome behind the threesomes.
Player Order within the Pairings: When creating pairings by team using the Automatic Scheduler, you can order them by Handicap Index (Lower Handicap player listed first) or by the position they were added into the system.
If the field cannot be split evenly in threesomes, the remainders should be grouped in: When creating pairings using threesomes, sometimes the pairings do not produce all threesomes. In this case, you can select the "odd groups" to be foursomes or twosomes.
Round Signups
Round Signups are typically only used for leagues. The Round Signup options include options that will be the default for all future event and league Round Signup Center settings:
Allow Round Signups on the Portal: When selecting this option, players can go to the portal and confirm themselves as attending or not attending for a round. They can also be required to enter the answer to a custom field to verify themselves, which essentially acts as a password.
Allow member to add guests: When signing up a round, you can allow members to sign up guests as well. Guests are considered players outside of the league roster. Click Here for information on managing guests for Round Signups.
Allow member to add other members: When signing up a round, you can allow members to sign up other league members during the signup process.
Allow players to Send Message to the Manager when signing up on the Portal?: After completing round signup, there is an option to send a message to the manager on the final page of the sign-up.
Send an email to select manager when a player uses the "Send message to the manager" feature: If you allow players to send messages to the manager(s) when signing up on the portal, besides the message going to the manager's site (Rounds > Portal Messages from Members), do you also want the message emailed to a manager? If so, click yes and select the manager(s).
