We have 3 different types of orders that can be used to manage your logistics:
- Material Orders
- Transport orders
- Sales Orders
Material Order
The root of the structure is the material order. A material order specifies where the order should be picked up, delivered, and which materials ( or parts ) should be transported. These are some of the features that can be used on material orders:
- Consolidation settings: use filters to consolidate certain material orders into transport orders
- ETA: follow up on ETA statuses per material order
Once the Material order is created, you can add it to a transport order and, if needed, a sales order. The transport order allows for the material order to be executed by a carrier and the sales order makes sure the material order can be billed to the right customer/supplier.
Transport Order
Transport orders are carrier-facing orders that allow for easy carrier allocation and communication. These are some of the features that can be used on the transport order side:
- Carrier allocation: Have the system select the ideal carrier based on pre-determined settings
- Automated emails: Emails sent out to the carrier
- Assign Drivers: Send transport orders to the Mobile Driver App
- Freight Settlement: Upload your rate cards to get a clear view of your carrier costs
- PO creation: Send the carrier a billing file specifying costs related to that carrier
- Multimodal: Air, Ocean, Rail and Road transport
Sales Order
Sales orders are customer/supplier-facing orders that make it easier to communicate based on automated rules and send invoices. These are some of the features that can be used on the Sales order side:
- Customer quotation request: Ask the customer to confirm the cost before activating the order
- Allow customers to follow-up on orders via the TOPS Customer Portal
- Freight Settlement: Upload your rate cards and apply them to your sales orders
- Sales Invoice creation
- Multimodal: Air, Ocean, Rail and Road transport
